I was actually wondering this myself, no one has offered any news. As last I heard, the conveyor belts are operating with a typical four-train operation, but not loading rows 3 and 6 one each train. Still no Express.

I rode it today and they were loading all six rows at least, but still no conveyor belt loading.

The belt is an on again, off again type thing right now... it's almost like french toast, when it gets burned you don't use it, after some time you try it again and might get it right, It's hard to get french toast as tight as regular toast.

Maybe that's not the right analogy, but you get the idea... they sometimes use it, sometimes not. depends on capacity and other conditions.

Yesterday morning at park open they were running 4 trains with the moving belt. The longest posted wait for the first 2 hours of the day was 15 minutes and it seemed to stay at 60 or less after that. Progress.

Do you know what the max number of trains is?

Thanks

I know there were 4 on the track and one in the garage, so there are five on site in public view. The rumor has always been 7 on the track at once and there are enough brake sections to make that happen, but I don't know that they will.
With 4 yesterday there was one headed for the lift or on it, one at unload/load, one in between the treble clef/crowd surf and one in the final citywalk track area.

I think they said the realistic capacity is 5... one to switch out if needed and one being worked on in theory... I don't even know if they have 7 trains on site

I was there Saturday; Rockit opened late due to "high winds" (bull, it was much windier when it opened) with a 4 train conveyor belt operation. Posted 45 minute wait that would've actually been 25 minutes had the ride not broken down literally just before I boarded - took 20 minutes for them to fix whatever the problem was, which included removing a train from the track, getting it down to three trains with conveyor belt... from there the wait jumped to 90 minutes for the rest of the day. Kind of sad, that breakdown and loss in capacity probably crippled a sustainable 30 minute wait.

My opinion still stands that this is the worst attraction blunder of all time, and this counts the imagination issues at Epcot.

Finally got my first ride in on Sunday at about noon.
Waited about 45min.
Three trains running (5 is the max I was told).
Moving belt was working.
LOVED the ride. It and Manta have both really impressed me.

Really? Of all time? What about Test Track? This ride opened a couple months late instead of 2 years late. The only real problem has been capacity which they have been getting better at. I don't see how it could be considered the worst attraction blunder of all time. :veryconfu

Test Track's problems were largely related to the new technology in use that was more advanced than almost anything else found in a theme park at the time.

Rockit's issue's can largely be blamed on a lack of understanding physics.

My point was not to compare the technology. From a PR perspective, having a ride delayed 2 years is by far a bigger blunder regardless of how innovative the ride was. Also, Rockit isn't some off the shelf coaster. The magic carpet and vertical lift were firsts for the company. I'm just not seeing that big of a "blunder" here. It wasn't ideal but in the end it opened beginning of Summer instead of Spring. That's not exactly a big deal.

Yesterday (April 27) Rockit was running 4 to 5 trains all day, using the moving belt. The trains were going out almost as fast as could be and the wait (it was a slow day) never got over 15 minutes! Also, a really cool design feature was revealed, there is an intended "near miss" when the timing is right.

As one train returns towards the station from the "treble clef" it leans in towards the loop, right as the other train is coming at it.

My twitpic from yesterday:

Wow! Now that it is timed correctly Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit has a very cool near miss! http://twitpic.com/1ixtzy
