RIP Goofy's Pop Jets

Another bit of WDW minutia exists now only in the history books. There was a fun little splash pad at Pop Century with a car and a Goofy statue. Went in January last year... no water. Maybe they turned them off because it was cold. Went in May... no water. I'm sure they're working on it. Went in October... still broken. Now the area has been resurfaced so that there's nothing to do and no nozzles for even the possibility of water anymore. Pop has been open less than ten years.

The overhead shot on the right makes it look something like an artificial beach. Is there anything there at all now.

It has been broken on and off for at least 4 years now.
This is sad, as this was always a favourite photo op. My husband and boys used to make it look like they were trying to break into the car.

Goofy is still there with the car, so photo ops are still possible. The water feature is what is no longer working.

It was awesome to see the Same Surfer Goofy in the Lobby at The Paradise Pier Hotel when I was there last year..It was like a little bit of Pop Century followed me to the west coast. But, alas no water jets there as well.

It was working when we were there 3 years ago. I'm kind of bummed cause' my DD is 3 and I thought that she would thoroughly enjoy it this year!

I have stayed at Pop...gosh...maybe 8 times? The jets have NEVER worked. Ever. They might as well have covered them up because seeing them just sitting there was frustrating.
