We will miss you dearly, daughter of the most influentially positive man of my lifetime. The Disneys improved the human spirit and made part of their "family" so many people they had never met. Time now for all Walt Disney fans to continue their cause and be the Dreamers and Doers of hope and goodness.

Wow, I hadn't heard this anywhere else. Sad.

@englanddg, thanks for all that additional info, the obit and especially the bench photo and the story behind it.

If you haven't visited the Walt Disney Family Museum, I encourage you to make plans to go. Diane did such an amazing job paying tribute to Walt and everyone who was near and dear to him. I can almost guarantee you'll walk out at the end fighting back tears. I truly felt like I had spent the day with the Disney family.

Diane's legacy is such an amazing one - I know her parents and sister would be so proud of what she accomplished. I'm taking comfort in the thought that she's telling them all about it right now, together once more. Rest in peace, Diane...

Great pic. I wanted to note that this was a famous cartoon from the day after Walt died.

I do appreciate the efforts that Diane made to have her father's legacy told. It was Walt and his dreams, as told in The Walt Disney Story attraction for so many years on Main Street, USA, that really put Walt and his dreams (and Walt Disney World itself -- "The Florida Project" and "EPCOT") into perspective for me as a child. And that has more than anything else effected my love today for WDW, at least where I can still find that spirit.

Walt taught me to balance optimism for the future (Tomorrowland) and dreams (Fantasyland) with a healthy respect for the past (Frontierland and Main Street, USA)... all with a sense of adventure right around the corner. And Diane's work helped us to know Walt for future generations.

And, of course, she was also her own person, with her own legacy of family. She was proud of that as well, it seems.

Prayers for the other family members.
