I need some reassuring here... I just called and changed our reservation to take advantage of the Free park hopper and Free water parks and more deal for May:sohappy: ; however, I had to change our hotel from Movies to Music or POP. I picked Music. I haven't stay at either one. Did I pick the right hotel? I've been reading other post and it seems that most people prefer POP. I'm sure there isn't really a bad hotel since this is Disney. There are 8 of us going, in 3 different rooms, We couldn't really pass up the savings.

Yes most do tend to like Pop more and I would have to agree. I have stayed at all the allstars and they aren't bad just getting a little old imo. But you'll have a great time no matter where you stay. Have a great trip!!

our last trip we stayed at the music, the only complaint i have is that we had a building way in the back. so there was a lot of walking for me.

Here's my two cents.....

I have stayed at both the Music and the Pop. If you plan on spending all your time in the parks- it doesn't make much difference. If you like to hang poolside and spend more time at your hotel- I prefer the Pop. It is the newer of the two. The food court has some great new choices- some even healthy and interesting.

Agree, stayed at the Pop in October/November. Located near downtown Disney and all of the parks - a great resort. The All-Stars have always felt a little removed from "the property" for me. If we're going to stay at a value resort, it will be Pop Century.

One thing I would definitely look into and this would be the one thing that would make me change my reservation - sometimes the allstars have many highschool / jr. high / college events, like bands (at music) or cheerleaders. This can make for an awful experience, particularly when you're trying to rest for the night or enjoy the pool. To me this destroys the magic. However, I'm not sure when all of these events typically are nor when you're going.

I've stayed at both and if I had to pick, I would go with Pop. Both are fine and I'm sure you'll have a good time at either but Pop has its own bus and just has a newer, nicer feel and look to me.

I love POP, but I never had a problem with the All-Stars, and the non-dedicated bus services never really held me up as much as people make it out to be. You wait for buses either way, and it really was never a big deal. Enjoy your trip, and HAVE FUN!!!

I have only stayed at POP so I can not compare the two. They way I look at it - you are staying on property and that is what matters. If you are like most the time you are there will be spent in the parks more than the resort. Have fun!!:)

I'd stay at the pop. I have never stayed at the values, but when i had an irish dance trip two years ago, thats where we praticed, and met to go to disney for the performance. What i mean to say is that pop is fun, its not confined to music, movies, ext. Its all combined together. Plus their food and bus service is excellent. I say this because after the practice, we went back to mgm studios. the buses were efficent, clean, ext.Plus their pool area is awesome.

But when you really think about it, the post that says you spend most of your time out of the room is right! As long as your on property, its all good. But to enhance your experience, follow my last post and stay at pop

This is a tough question ... Here's my take.

Pop Century has a better "location". You are in the heart of everything. The All-Stars have WAY better parking. So, if I were you ... decide what you want to deal with. Buses are Buses, so if you do not want to have transportation issues, I would suggest renting a Van and splitting the cost, or getting cheap rentals via National (coupons and discounts stack). Either way you go, I would suggest NOT using the Food Court in either place. You are just a short hop away from Coronado, where you will encounter NO kids going crazy, and no "Fight to the Finish" over drink refills. Stay at the value resorts, but play somewhere else :)

I may be mis-remembering, but it seems like the POP bus stops were always the last ones.

At MK I know POP was last.

It's only a few extra feet, but when you're dead tired, it can make a difference.

I haved stayed at both and definitely like All Stars better. Even though they share buses they seem to come faster. Also a lot of tour groups stay at pop. When they go some where it totally disrupts everything. Also Pop is very large and there is only one bus stop at the front. Hope this gives you some reassurance.

I haven't stayed at POP, 'cause we've switched to moderates since it opened, but we always loved all stars. I prefer movies to music...but that really is a personal pref.
