Trip Report Riffraff, Street Rat...No one appreciates I'm broke.

What a great trip!

We arrived October 19th and left on the 24th. It was another stay at a Value, which I keep saying is my last time at a Value but with these yearly trips instead of every other year that's what is in the budget. This was a last minute (well 65 days is last minute for Disney) mother and other daughter trip (in case you read my mother daughter report from last year) , so we raided the coin jars, searched the couch cushions, stole money out of my husbands wallet and made it happen. We hit each park for one day each and had an evening at Disney Springs. I didn't take notes and I only have my photos as a guide for this report so we better get on with the details before I forget everything.

Trip takers for this one: Me & E. Sorry but the all pictures of us look just like this.

Saturday, October 19th:

E drove to my house the night before since we had a morning flight. We got up around 4:45 am and was on the road by 5:20. The ride to the airport is a tad bit over two hours so we made a pit stop. I've added this since we crazy Disney people seem to like bathroom, light fixtures and food pictures.

Everything went smooth at the airport, as proof here is the obligatory airport photo. She has no idea how many photos are in her future.

When we arrived at ME it was the most crowded I've had to deal with. I guess I've been lucky in the past. We waited awhile but then had our own bus to the resort. Which is good because sharing a bus sucks 85% of the time.

E commented several times that our driver was in the video but I missed it every time due to gawking out the windows. I didn't have cash on me to tip the driver. I always feel like a schmuck when I don't tip the bus driver from MDE. Why? I don't know. I don't tip the maid. I digress

We arrived at POP and I hadn't received a room ready text so off we go to the front desk and wait our turn. The oddest CM I've ever dealt with helped us. He was young and in my opinion trying to impress/badly flirt with E. I previously requested a room in building 6 facing the water, I wanted close to the skyliner, we got building 3. It was the next building over and wasn't bad. E was celebrating college graduation and on her celebrating pin he wrote Navigator since he said she was in charge of the room map. Both confused and ready to run we headed to our room.

We put both beds down and there was still plenty of room for both of us to walk around.

With stomachs rumbling we headed for the bus stop to Disney Springs

I'm here, too! (Question: I noticed the bed was on a platform (no box spring). I'm curious: was it comfortable to sleep on? Only asking, as I've never slept on a platform bed before.)

The beds were quite comfortable and I had no problem falling asleep right away. Now the question is, was it due to the beds or exhaustion? 🙂

The bus came fairly quickly and we were whisked away. Our reservations weren't until 5:30 so we walked around and looked at a few shops. We headed back to Morimoto Asia and got seated right away. We were seated on the second floor next to a glass rail. It was a little terrifying. I always thought the lights here were pretty in pictures, but seeing them in person I realized they are fishnets ... I'm talking about the old wire nets that my grandma used at the lake, that I used at the lake. So much for fancy...

Their menu looked very good but the duck ramen was calling my name. I love me some hard boiled eggs but the egg in this tasted sweet and eggs aren't supposed to be sweet so one bite and it got put aside.

We also had steamed dumplings, they were sooo good. E has a talent with chopsticks, me on the other hand can't figure them out for the life of me. I ended up stabbing them. For a moment I was that person that other people look at and wonder what in the world are they doing. I finally gave up and asked for a fork.

We walked around DS a little more. I have to admit we ended up getting a little confused and walked in a circle, maybe more than once. We did finally find the Art of Disney store, I love that store. E fell in love with a picture called Golden Oak Tree. It has so many hidden characters and Mickey's in the tree and bushes it really is amazing up close. I wish I would've bought a print for her to give to her for Christmas. Here is a web pic I found of it.

We headed back to our Riffraff resort ;) and crawled into our comfy @MinnieM123 beds. We debated for a short time about just sharing a bed so that we would have more floor space but nixed that idea fairly quickly for our own space. E is from a generation that loves to fall asleep with her phone 5 inches from her face. I don't think I could have handled that. So shortly before 9pm I was all comfy cozy and already looking forward to some EMH tomorrow

I bought that tree print during our 2016 trip! It’s gorgeous!
