Riding in the front of coasters?

You have to know that I respect you and the posts you make here, but.... physics is physics. All of the cars are attached. None go faster than the others.
The rear appears this way because the front of the train is already over the hill before the speed picks up, and you sort of get "whipped" over the hill. For that reason I love the rear seats too.

I've been lucky enough to get the front seat for all the coasters at WDW except I don't remember if we did on RnRC or not. I think you can ask the CMs if you can wait for the seat on most of them. I do remember a front seat queue at Everest.

But the best thing about this ride was when the two different trains were timed perfectly so we were heading toward each other face to face and I was in the front seat. Really cool!

The best part of being in the front car of EE is that you get to see SSE over at Epcot right before you do the backwards descent. Otherwise, I'm a back seat rider on all other coasters that are of the train variety. I love flying out of my seat on the drops. Those that are a single large car, it really doesn't matter unless you want the front so there is nothing in front of you.

I don't know why anyone would respect me on this forum, as I am basically a dork when logged on, but thank you for your gracious comment.
Having studied physics a little bit in my short life, I do understand the principles of a roller coaster regarding the fact that it is basically one unit going the same speed at all times. It is the whipping sensation at the top of climbs when riding in the back that makes it "faster", therefore better for me. The front of the train goes over the crest of a climb at a slower speed than the back. The train as a whole has gained momentum by the time that the back of the train reaches the crest, which means that the rear car is going "faster" at the crest than the front car did at the same point of the track earlier. While the whole train is going at the same speed at all times, it is the speed gained for the front beyond the crest that allows a greater speed for the rear while still at the crest. Those climbs are what makes it better for me.
Yet, I maintain that I do not ask for a particular seating, as I hate to be a bother. I make up for this because I always get more soda by asking for no ice.

The best seat in thunder mountain is the best, the front is slow on the drops.

There is a "front line queue" for Everest, RnR, Splash and BTMRR. They put you off to the side on Thunder but Everest is by the single rider line and RnR is right next to the CM who ask how many. There is only a one or two ride wait. We do it for every trip and it works great.

I remember waiting for the front row for Everest once. It was a 5 train extra wait but with the ride running so many trains, it was only a few minutes extra. It always amazes me how many trains they run on all the coasters at Disney and how fast they they load and dispatch the trains. I don't think some local parks near me could even be close to handling running 4 or 5 trains on a coaster. At Hersheypark as an example, there is a coaster called Fahrenheit and each train only seats 12 people and I have been there when only 2 trains are running and even then they can't dispatch the trains fast enough where the 2nd train is sitting in the brake run at the end of the ride waiting for the other train to dispatch. Or at Great Adventure where at Rolling Thunder, it usually takes around 4 minutes just to dispatch one train of 24 riders (though I guess it doesn't matter now since the ride closed for good 2 months ago).

There is no benefit to the front on Space yet I get requests ALL.THE.TIME. for it. It usually happens when I am behind on grouping people and I tell the guest that it is not possible for the front at this time and please go where I told them to go [usually the back, which is more fun anyway] but they pull the "no we will wait" card.
It is then that I keep them to the side and group parties and ask all the ones that would have been in the front if they want the front or do they mind if that other party goes first.
It is not fair for others that want the front to not get it when they happened to be that lucky spot in line.
I'll give them the choice.

I feel sorry for anyone that gets in your line. There's nothing wrong with someone asking for the front.
Perhaps I was in your line this past September.
I was told requesting the front also was not possible at Everest. This was early in the day when the coaster was still effectively walk-on, so perhaps the CMs were also thinking that it wasn't worth the additional trouble to interrupt their grouping to accommodate such a request.

There is nothing wrong with it if you ask in a nice way.
It is difficult when every person asks for the front..then there is no one to go in the back.
I love the nice families that ask "Party of 4, and may we have the front if possible?" Sure! No problem!
But what if the person behind them wants the front? And behind them? and them?
How will the line ever get through? Ask nicely sure, if it is possible and the line isn't an hour long sure thing!
But if we are extremely busy, you will have to wait because I may not need a party of 2 until I come across another 2 pairs of parties of 2 or a party of 4.
Grouping is difficult.

Every night. It isn't every person but it is a lot.
Excuse me for voicing my opinion on the concept of riding in the front. Remind me not to do that again.

This trip was my 4 yo daughter first time riding the 40 inch rides and because of this I did ask for the front car on BTMRR. It's slower going down the big hills and you don't get as much air time. I didn't want to put her off trying new rides. It ended up being her favorite ride! In the future we will sit anywhere since she likes it.

Wow. Calm down. I asked a question. You acted like every person that comes to you asks for a front seat. Deal with it or move elsewhere and work. I watched CM's like you on this last trip get all bent out of shape when my son or I asked for a front or rear seat. They would do it, but they'd roll their eyes and act exasperated. And this was when no one was even in the front/rear rows! My God, pick another cause to champion. One or two people at a time asking for a specific seat shouldn't get your knickers in a bunch or cause you major mathematical problems, and if it does then I suggest finding a new job.
