Riding in the front of coasters?

I cannot speak for Everest, but grouping is difficult everywhere.

Now that I think about it, it may have been Rock n' Rollercoaster where we actually asked and were turned down.

It didn't bother us at the time, but after I got some responses to this thread I'm a little annoyed if front-seating requests are something that are supposed to normally be accommodated when possible versus something that's merely at employee discretion.

Like I said in the beginning, from what I saw in September the majority of Disney's coasters do not have the proper gates in place to allow the sort of front seat queuing at coasters at other parks, so if employees would prefer that guests not foul up the system by trying to hang back in the queue right before boarding I can understand.

If you can speak from a position of knowledge, what exactly is company policy?

Disney is very equitable in filling all available seats; the only time you can jockey for the front is if there's a mostly empty queue. You can ask the CM in such cases.

#ProTip - if there's no one in the queue upon return (in your lane) you can ride again. And again... Rode EE and BTMR several times in a row like this.

At a lot of amusement parks, there is a longer queue just before the boarding area of a rollercoaster specially for those who don't mind waiting longer foe the front seat. From what I've seen, Disney never does this as far as I can tell. Am I missing something, because I sure would like to ride front seat on Everest one of these days.
EE and RNR have a separate waiting area for the front row...it's by the grouper CM who assigns the rows to guests. You have to ask for front row.
