Ridiculous or just plain weird in-queue stories, I wanna hear 'em.

I don’t know exactly what to call them...kinda like vertical blinds, but connected.🤷‍♀️ They came out of the wall, across the big windows inside the building.
Sounds like accordion fire separation. There can be limits on how much glass you can have in a building based on its construction type and proximity to other buildings. Putting out the “shields” would be a way to contain a fire while still having the large windows that aren’t made of expensive rated glazing.

I didn't know such a thing existed. When I think shields, I'm thinking of the episode of Rick & Morty when the shields go up on the windows and doors to contain the parasite. But I guess that would make sense to "contain" the fire so it wouldn't spread.

That sounds like what they were. It was pretty cool, but also kinda creepy, seeing a big gray “shield” coming across the windows. It makes sense that those are what Disney used in Cosmic Ray’s, since it’s an older building.

Little boy in front of us in line to meet Chewy for no reason at all turns around and tells my 5 year old that Chewy is fake. My son looks this kid dead in the eyes and yells "HE IS REAL AND HE IS A WOOKIE AND IF HE DOESNT LIKE YOU HE WILL RIP YOUR ARMS OFF!!" little boy in front of us begins to cry, demands they leave the line. Dad who was playing on his cell phone and missed that whole convo can't understand why and apologies to us for his kids tears. I play completely stupid to the whole thing and we got to move up a spot when the family left....

Moral of the story, don't tell my kid a character isn't real....
HILARIOUS :hilarious:

I feel that when a meerkat is going to tear a rabbit's throat out and then share the rabbit's corpse with its friends and family, it should put up a scrim or some other kind of cover beforehand, because nature should be censored and I just plain don't like inconsiderate meerkats.
If I saw that happen, it would have totally ruined the magic for me. I would have been demanding unlimited FPs and free meals for the rest of our stay. My sweet little Princess should never see anything like that. Maybe they should make all of the animals at DAK into AAs to avoid this horror ever happening again. :D

I remember back in 2012, Wife and I were at AK with our Fastpass in hand for Expedition Everest around 2:00 PM when it was suddenly closed due to some issues. They issued us replacement Fastpasses to use later during the day saying it should we open in an hour or two. So we went about our way. I heard a rumor going around that it was finally reopened later (Actually we could visibly see people riding) and we returned only to be stopped again and told it was closed and they weren't sure if it would reopen today. Something about an issue with one of the cars ? Anyways as we are there the second time, a couple with 3 kids (elementary to teen) were standing there talking to the CM throwing a fit. They yelled "We came all the way from Minnesota for this, we won't have another chance to ride this, this is total complete crap!" They threw the fastpasses they were given on the ground dramatically. I remember making eye contact with the CM who was being nothing but professional and apologetic about the whole thing. Me being the opportunist that I am picked 2 of the fastpasses up. Expedition Everest ended up opening back up around 8:30PM that day. We were able to ride it 3 times with almost no line when it opened back up since we were staying until closing.

At the time my wife looked at me and we both agreed, the situation the family in really sucked, but being downbeat can totally ruin the vibe of an otherwise fun trip for your kids. Now that we have kids we really don't have any expectations to ride certain things when we go to Disney Parks, and we always talk about that "family at AK".

I've shared this one here a few times over the years but it's so bizarre I can never forget it, lol:

In line for ToT at DCA back in 2005, I was riding solo while my sister waited. While waiting outside the preshow, another solo rider started making small talk.

Just as the doors open, she turned to me and said, "I love this ride so much, my dog loves it too," opens her big purse and sure enough, there's a tiny dog in there! 😵

I was HORRIFIED and stood back as the preshow emptied to tell a CM to stop the woman. My heart was pounding and I was so worried for that dog! I chose the opposite queue at the split to avoid her, and hoped they stopped her. A few minutes later another CM came up to me to ask me if I was 100% sure I saw a dog. I guess she was denying it or something. I was sure!

When I got off the ride and was telling my sister, she was right there. Why didn't they escort her from the park? And how the heck did she get that dog through the bag check? Mysteries of the world, lol.

Another trip to DL in 2003, my sister and I were waiting for Flik's Flyers and they were actually building ToT there at the time. The guy in front of us was very seriously telling his friend about the new hotel they were building and how he couldn't wait to stay there. I didn't have the heart to correct him 😂

Considering I live on the east coast and have been to WDW 30+ times and have only been to DL four times, I find it odd both my stories are from California 🤣
