Rides That Broke Down

My family got stuck on Kali River Rapids right at the top of the big drop. The flames stayed on for a while and it got really hot. They ultimately had to drain all of the water from the ride and walk us out. We went down the hill in the back of the ride. They gave us a Fast Pass for later in the day and an ice cream for our trouble. With the exception of being perched perilously close to the drop for a while it was kind of neat to see them drain the ride and then the backstage area.

Ive been stuck on the old TT twice for an extended period of time. Once in front of the truck and it kept going off and once on the first loop so I was sitting there sideways for about 30 minutes. That surprisingly is the only ride Ive been stuck on for an extended period of time.

Stuck in the Haunted Mansion by the cemetery for good five minutes. It was rather hilarious, though with my aunt fearing something would come out of the cemetery.

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
The only ride that has stopped that I had to be evacuated off of was the TTA Peoplemover... Twice. In the same day! Wonderful fastpasses though.

My friend recently went to MK in July a few weeks ago and told me that she got stuck on the Carousel of Progress.

On our last trip, we got stuck on the TTA for about 30 minutes right before the park closed on an extra magic hours night. My mom was half delusional with exhaustion (it was close to 3am at that point) and sang Christmas carols at the top of her lungs. She thought it was hilarious, my brother and I not so much. That same trip, we were also stuck on Splash Mountain half way up the final lift hill. I can still hear the vultures now! And finally, also on the same trip, Space Mountain broke down a grand total of 5 times, four of them while we were in line and the last time while we were on the TTA. At least we got to see Space Mountain with the lights on!

Once rode Spaceship Earth and the ride took well over an hour with multiple stops. It got to be a game to say where the next stop would be...

Kali Rapids once, in the wrong spot ... we kept getting soaked and resoaked. HM so many times that I cant count. Those were enjoyable because we usually were in the ballroom scene when they occurred. IASW several times, forever ( I should get mental anguish compensation for those ones.) But never have experienced ride evacs. Had a monorail once break down and we sat on the line for quite a while until they were able to get us into the Contemp station.

Nothing not usual for Disney, like a log jam or stop for wheelchair, but we did in Universal the one time we visited vs. the 25+ times we been to Disney. We got stuck right at the top of the lift hill for Jurassic Park River ride. We were two feet from getting off the belt and all power shut down and emergency lights came on. Sat there for about 30 minutes until help finally arrived and we had to climb out of boats to a metal ramp over to stairs and down through back stage area.

I was riding Primeval Whirl (I'm a horrible person, I know) and at the highest point the ride stopped. I don't know how long I was stuck there, but it felt like an hour. The Cast Member's took a long time to finally get up to us, and then it took them at least 15 minutes to get the malfunctioning guard rail to come up. It was rather uncomfortable sitting there in the hot sun.

Last Friday we got stuck on the Winnie the Pooh ride. We had to be evacuated off the ride and walkthru the rest of the ride. My sister had a broken foot and wasn't easy to get her out

When you think about the massive mechanical devises these attractions are today, and the computers needed to operate them, it not hard to understand why they would break down now and then.

All theme and amusement parks have breakdowns now and then.

I had to get evacuated from Ellen's Energy Adventure. We were in the 2nd theater and Alex had just revealed the Final Jeopardy answer when they made an announcement that the ride was having a technical issue and we would have to be evacuated. Since no one wouldn't get to see the end of the ride (or the question for Final Jeopardy), my family yelled out, "What is Brain Power!" as we were getting off the ride.
The same exact thing happened to us in that spot! Lucky for us because DH hates this ride and couldn't stand another minute of it

We had to be evacuated off GMR in May. We were right next to the Sigourney Weaver AA. There was a fire in the building so they shut off the ride and most of the lights. Let me tell you, a non-moving Ripley is even creepier than a moving Ripley. We were right next to an exit which was sort of a bummer but also fine, because I'm not sure I would have wanted to walk through the Alien scene.

The very first time I was going on Toy Story Mania it broke down. Thankfully the Cast Members were giving out Fast Passes good for anytime that day, so when it re-opened I didn't need to wait along time in the standby line.

I have also been on Test Track when it stopped along the track, so when we got back to the loading area the Cast Member said we can stay on and go again.

Finally one time on Star Tours there was no sound and because of that we got to stay on and see it again with it working.

I was stuck on Peter Pan right above the pirate ship with Wendy walking the plank. My mom is terrified of heights and HATES that ride lol. She was freaking out and I had to keep telling her that we're not really flying above London...that we can actually hop down and walk out of there. Her palms were sweating so bad. I die laughing every time I think about it.

My best friend had to exit RnR and they turned the lights on. She said it's WAY scarier with the lights on than off!
