I think i called Spaceship Earth "the big ball, or the big golf ball" as a small child.

Also, I used to call the Pirates of the Carrib. the "Yo Ho" ride as that great song just sticks in your head.

Oh yeah. I do remember one. One year, we took my Mom with us. She thought the "hall of Presidents" was "house" of Presidents. So we now refer to it as "the house of Pancakes".

I call Disney's Animal Kingdom "the best theme park on the planet". I call The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror simply "the Tower". For the longest time, I called the Tomorrowland Transit Authority the "PeopleMover", but now I have given in and simply call it "the Transit Authority". I call Splash Mountain "Splash" and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad "Big Thunder". I call It's a Small World the "home of the Children of the Corn". Other than those, I go by the official names. God I love Animal Kingdom...gotta take in your surroundings, people. Disney is not going for "let's transport the animals to Guests" but rather "Let's transport the Guests to the animals". That's why you take a time machine to see dinosaurs and are transported to Africa to take a safari.

Grow up, everything isn't about a ride, AK may have some zoo like qualities but GEEZ, have you ever just taken the time to realize the detail that went into that place?!? It is mind bogling how beautiful AK is, the Tree of Life really takes it all to another level. It just es me off, don't go there then, it'll be emptier when I'm there. Every inch to Animal Kingdom just takes you away, yes there may be animals, IT IS ANIMAL KINGDOM YOU KNOW. They never told you this is full of rides. If that's what you want, go to Busch Gardens. Animal Kingdom is great and I cannot stress enough how much I and my whole family and friends just loved it. You have to look past just the animals, look how they are kept, talk to the CM's, it is all perfect. Ando if you haven't been to a zoo lately, then you'll know that it isn't just a zoo, it is a lot more, but partly zoo YES. They weren't lying when they called it Animal Kingdom. It's not like they called it funhouse or something. Sit back and look at the minor details, it is so much more than all of you are seeing, and I know there are others out there who think just like I do.

Enough ripping!!:sohappy: ;) :p

:sohappy: :sohappy: well said!!!!!!

Our family calls the TTA the "People Mover", as everyone calls it. We call PoC the "Pirates", and last we call SpaceshipEarth plainly the "big ball."

ehh.. it's still a zoo to me. It's a zoo w/ rides, and a parade. It's now a fancy zoo.

I've been working there for the past several weeks (i hate entertainment scheduling!!) and my experiences there make it more of a zoo to me

I'm sure those Gorillas ARE your true relatives, Apeman. Those people and yourself have absolutely no concept of art and appreciation for nature, go to your freakin local zoo and see the difference, local zoos are very boring.

I never every thought of AK as a zoo. It nothing like a zoo I guess you just have to have a very simple mind to see it that way. I guess for mktiggerman working at WDW is just a job and not one you really care anything about doing :( I hope I dont run into you either when I am there next month.

Why all the hostility? Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Take a deep breath and calm down please.

Now back to the subject.

My mother calls Test Track Fast Track and Track Pass.

"everyone is entitled to their own opinion as long as they aren't calling Animal Kingdom a zoo". That's my motto! Let's see: qualities that make it a zoo: animals live there. Hmmm...animals live in all the parks...I mean...I see ducks and seagulls at the Magic Kingdom all the time, and flamingos live near the Mexico pavillion...there are fish in front of MGM. So I suppose the Walt Disney World Property is actually a big zoo. Qualities that make it nahtazu: the dinosaurs, the future mythological creatures, the rides, the shows, the parade, the music, the Tree of Life, the theming, the magic, the fact that they are not bringing the animals to you but rather you to the animals (if you think those animals are not happy and don't feel like they live in the wild, compare the breeding rates of our elephants with those of zoos...). So, basically it's the best themed park on property and it just happens to show beautiful animals. Zoo? I have a perdy dog but I don't consider my house a zoo...oh yes...no cages!
