Ewan Mcgregor, "I haven't heard from them, but I'd be interested."
Rian Johnson, "We're talking about it, but nothing to announce yet."

Who's the ideological warrior responding to a post two months old?

🙄
Somebody else restarted it and it popped up on the feed...which you probably missed while you were goggling charts to make irrelevant “points”
Huh? You do know that a Ewan McGregor OB1 D+ series is greenlit, right?
Nothing to do with clownshoes Director
Absolutely I do. I was just comparing their statements. Ewan was denying while knowing for four years it was happening in some form wheras Rian has been openly saying it's in the works making it seem all the more likely (but no certainty.)
He’s saying this stuff himself! Disney ain’t fueling any of this.

Come on

I'm here for the fanboi tears. 😅

I actually would still really like to see his own trilogy totally divorced from the Skywalker saga. All the complaints really come down to him being a mismatch for an 8th film in a saga. Nothing to say he can't be a good fit in a different era the Galaxy. He's a very good film maker.

The “source” of this...posted on the very “reputable” disinsider?? Is a daisy Ridley fan girl author with no discernible attachment to any of the players in the post.

Doesn’t take Scotland Yard to sleuth this out...someone break the news to BrianLo

You're right, no way it happens.
I'm not even convinced Kathleen Kennedy will be in charge of Lucasfilm by this Christmas.
Disney bungled Star Wars, and The Last Jedi was the main culprit.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WOOOOOOOOO! Shut up. Star Wars is in good hands. Everything, from the original trilogy, to the prequels to now, connects and makes a cohesive whole. The "problems" you cite are present under Lucas' reign as well, all the way back the original trilogy. Same with the "lack of planning." There was indeed, a plan, but you can't be slaved to something set in stone. Even Lucas wasn't.

Honestly, the worshipping of the original trilogy and the EU books as a sacred text, holy scripture, worshipping at the altar of St. Gary Kurtz, is appalling.

PS: The actual source on this is technically Rian Johnson himself. Not Disinsider. He may be trolling, I readily admit.

We’ll all let it play.

Let’s see what happens with Kathy Kennedy? I’m not sure that she will internally get enough credit from Mandolorian (she won’t...the Hollywood press isn’t lauding her and that’s a good sign of where it’s going) and we can all agree that Johnson is DOA without her.

Back when the poop was really hitting the fan with the last jedi. I had said Rian would have probably made an interesting trilogy seperate from the main saga. Unfortunately I think he is just to tainted at this point for Disney to release his star wars trilogy. Episode 8 was not the time to reinvent star wars. But a separate saga from Rian, even if not as traditional as the originals, would have been received just fine.

The part of this article that screams he's just trolling to me is this. He's working on but hasn't had time because of other projects. If Disney wanted a trilogy from Rian, it would be full guns, not, take your time! Let us know how it's going.

There’s also no timeline...no hirings...no story and most importantly;

No comment from Burbank...or San Fran for that matter.

But in reality Disney has zero plans to go through with it and are just waiting till Kennedy is gone and the project just dissapears.
Who is the "Disney" that has no plans? KK has three bosses: Bergman, chair of studios; the CEO, Bob Chapek; and a pseudo-boss in Iger who's supposed to be in charge of creative content.

Given his background and all the damage control he's enmeshed with, do you think Chapek has in his mind a short list of directors for future SW movies? He don't know movie production.

What has Bergman done with regard to LucasFilm?

That leaves Iger who has always backed KK and taken the blame for Solo.

They're the ones who've been backing her so far. And they'll pick her replacement when she retires (likely this year when contract is up... but... it can always be renewed).
