Trip Report Revisiting 2016's War and peace I took one for the team

Hello it's me again and if you want to know what the title means you'll have to stick around for a while. Sorry but no spoiler This trip was 3 years in the making and the official countdown started at 439 days. Surprisingly the time seemed to fly by. Our little adventure was taken by me (for those who don't know I'm Figmentfan423 Figgy to my friends here), my dh and our 2 boys James 14 and fellow Disney planner and M who's a bit older autistic and doesn't like getting his picture taken or me talking about him. Our trip began at

am on July 30th. We sang happy birthday to my little guy while driving down the street on our way to Disney. I'm a very mean mommy who made my baby spend his birthday in the car. Any way it was smooth sailing until half way through Virginia where we hit rain and traffic all the way to the North Carolina border. It was bad enough we worried a bit about making it to our hotel for the first night but once we hit NC the skies cleared and so did the traffic:joyfull: and we made it to Florida

to take the obligitory first Florida picture of the boys. With a bit of luck and excitement we made it to Ormond Beach to get a good night's sleep.

Time for our Be Our Guest ADR and the CMs at the reception desk were very nice, put in our request for the West Wing and told us we would have a bit of a wait if we wanted to eat in there. Of course we said no problem. So far great

After only a few minutes we were seated again great

Here's where the not so great began. The ballroom was a zoo to get through with rids running around and a few even climbing on tables. Our server came over and asked for our drink orders and rolled her eyes like I had said I was taking away her cell phone for a week when we said we'd like to order our food and drinks at the same time to pair them. I didn't think that was to much to ask for! I got the salad trio with roasted beets and the beets were raw, not undercooked RAW! I also got the ratatouille which was good but the portion size seemed smaller than the last time I got it. Jim got the potato leek soup and the chicken and said they were ok, nothing to write home about. We got a pinot grigio which was ok but not great

Trying to get our server's attention was difficult. By the time she came around the main course was being served so I never sent the salad back. I did pick at some of it. Next time we tried the same thing.Oh well I didn't need a second glass of wine. As soon as we finished eating the boys called and said they were fighting about what to do next. So we left and met up with them. I'm hoping it was just an off night

At least we could agree on going on SDMT and then walking over to the Plaza Ice Cream Palour. We all just got scoops in cups and found a place by the Plaza to watch Wishes which was sweet.

While the crowds where rushing out we made our way over to Tomorrowland and went on Buzz, COP, Wed Way and Space Mountain and on our way out we had a package pick up and too this for @betty rose

Me 'Earties

Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate
After the parade it was back to MSUSA to get my mother in laws Christmas gift. She's hard to buy for but does like Christmas ornaments. We had the perfect one for her in mind so we had the glass blower make her one. View attachment 160758 View attachment 160759 If you ever get a chance to see the glass blowing demonstration please do so.

Yes!! I love watching the glass blowing myself-so cool (hot lol) to see pieces of glass transform to a glob of molten glass to a piece of art.

My older ds got the chicken platter and Jim got the bacon, chicken burger. The boys cleaned out the topping barView attachment 160740 View attachment 160741 View attachment 160742 During lunch I spotted out of the corner of my eye the most wonderful woman, her adorable son and her pain in the pretty much everywhere dh @Bugz we managed to find a bit of time to have fun chatting before having to move onView attachment 160743

Followed by some walking around at DTD. The boys went to Erin Mc Kenna's while Jim and I stopped at Jock Lindsey's Jim got a pineapple cider which he thought was a bit sweet and I got a Reggu's Revenge which was good and Josh was an excellent bartender and very nice.

Yea, @Ciara got me hooked on that pineapple cider about a year ago. It is all I drink anymore. I drink the pineapple when available and the Perry the rest of the year. I love it!
