Revenge of the Mummy

Ok so, never been on it. I'm going over to Universal next month and my boyfriend made me promise to ride it with him, but I feel like he's tricking me by saying it doesn't go upside down and stuff...so does it? And as far as drops are concerned...how many? How big? How steep?

lol

Sorry for all the questions but rollercoasters in the dark freak me out.
I just went on Rockin' Rollercoaster for the first time ever out of all the times I've been to WDW. (It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...fun even.)

I'd love to give you some details about RotM, but I do not want to ruin it for you.
I will say this, if you can handle the RnRC, you can handle the Mummy.

I am willing to bet that you will, or will want to ride it more than once!

No loops, corkscrews or major drops at all. It has a couple of small fast drops, but mostly a lot of banking.

I am guessing here, but I would say only about a third of the ride is a coaster, the other two thirds is a dark type ride.

Give it a try...there is really nothing to be freaked out by on this ride, it is hard to find a similar type ride to compare it to, but if you have done Rockin' Rollercoaster at Disney, you will be fine.

When I first rode Revenge of the Mummy it wasn't officially open yet. Keeping in mind that I can't handle very many roller coasters, I found it rather enjoyable and rode a total of four times.

Since then I've been on two "big" roller coasters: Big Bad Wolf at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg and Expedition Everest.

Last weekend I rode Mummy again. This time I actually found it a little underwhelming!

ROTM is outstanding. It's very well themed, and it's just a fun all-around ride.

If you like RNRC, then you shouldn't have any problems with ROTM. There are some good solid moments of air-time, but it doesn't go upside down at all.

I think you'll like it a lot

Ok cool. Thanks

dont worry about ROTM. Its a pretty cool ride. Got a little bit of a dark ride portion. Its fun to look around the "treasure room" for a hidden King Kong statue. Then you got these creepy creatures (scarabs) that infest a small room. You go backwards for about 10 feet. Turn on a turntable and then you get to launch. You wont go upside down at all but there is a few good portions of "airtime". All in all its a good ride. If u ride it enough like i have you get use to it and find it a little bit boring. but i guess any ride is like that

Geez! Why don't you just go ahead and post the ride-through!! :p

I'm suprised no Universal-bashers have got on here and said 'how much better EE is'... Personally I think Mummy and Spider-Man are some of the best attractions at Orlando theme parks... they're very different than anything else out there and I'm sure you'll love Mummy!

EE is better, or at least more fun (imo) ;)

But seriously and on topic, Mummy is a great ride. As others have said, you should have no problem with it. I definetely recommend it. While true that I enjoy the entire experience of EE better, there is no denying that Mummy has better "dark ride" scenes that really add a lot to it. The Imhotep animatronic is well done and the fire effects, while overdone at Universal in general, add a bit of zing to the experience. As far as a coaster thrill goes, its not bad at all though. One of Universal's better rides.

We felt that as well the last time we were there. I'm pretty sure they have slowed down the backwards portion since it originally opened.

It was weird, I thought I remembered there being more roller coater parts than that.... Perhaps it was because I couldn't see, as my boyfriend's roommate knocked my glasses off during the first drop!

Like everyone said if you can handle RnR you'll be fine. Mummy is great, it's full of thrills and doesn't last too long if you do hate it but personally I think you'll want to do it again.

You'll be fine with everything at Universal Studios if you can ride RnR coaster.

I wasn't too impressed with ROTM. I'm on board with Spider Man being one of the best attractions in Florida, but I find ROTM to be a decent attraction and nothing more.

I'm not usually one for coasters, but it's the Sommersverse. And I enjoyed it, though I closed my eyes through most of it. :brick:

And there is one thing you must know about me, I am a huge fan of the Sommersverse (The Mummy and Van Helsing) which is why you might hear me rant about how they should at least put Fortress Dracula in USF...or at least some more of those characters walking around in the park...

So I'm assuming you've been to the Horror Movie Makeup Show, with the props from Van Helsing, correct? I liked Castle Dracula in California, but when we went through it there were only three characters. If they had more people inside, I would've been more impressed, I think. Nice sets, though. And you've got a good point with the characters. I'd like to see them used a bit more in the parks as well.
