Restaurants To Avoid!

Sci-Fi. I have a hard enough time getting my teenagers to put down there cell phones and pay attention to the family during dinner. When you add the super large screens and face them towards them.... then communication is 0. For those reasons we will not be back.

It bugs me when people are constantly using their phones at WDW. I mean, there's so much to do and so much to look at! You can look at your phone anytime of the year! You only have limited time at the World. I'm okay with people sending a text here or there, but to be constantly checking Facebook and Twitter? Or to be having an entire conversation with someone via text? That's like going on vacation and talking to someone on the phone the entire trip. Doesn't make sense to me. Even when standing in line I'd rather be looking at things than checking Facebook.

Typically if a place sucks I don't go back for seconds but on two instances one at ABC Commisary where my group and I ran in to get out of the rain and another at Pinocchio Village Haus when we needed something to drink and both times for some stupid reason knowing how terrible they both are still decided to order food!
NEVER AGAIN!

Hollywood & Vile is definitely one to avoid, bland food, poor service and rude CMs. I didn't make this observation on one visit but two, when I stupidly decided to eat here again hoping it would be better, I was wrong.
I am never going back there!:( Tried it twice and same bad food and service both times!:( Howerver I always stop at ABC just to get a drink they have great a/c :)

hahaha....we did Sci-Fi for the first time last November and I sat by myself because DD and the grandkids were late showing up and I loved it. Had great waitstaff, I was seated in the back and for some reason all the waitstaff wanted to stop by my table and chat so I was not lonely for company...loved the movies! Food was okay. DD finally showed up with kiddos when my food was being served and they gave them a table right in the front and they loved the atmosphere too.

Cape may cafe

What?!?! This is my favorite character dining spot, one of my most fav breakfast spots...in one of my most fav locations....granted the waitstaff is kind of crabby and abrupt but we have always had good character experiences here and I think the buffet items and variety served on the line are almost to the excellent rating! Why don't you like Cape May??

For me there isn't a place that isn't worth doing at least once. All the table service offer something unique that for me was worth a try. The 2 places that I would only do as a last resort are Sci-fi and Chef Mickey. Sci-fi had extremely average food and Chef Mickey is average buffet food in a very non special environment. Now I would recommend them once because sci-fi is a very cool place to eat with the atmosphere/theme. And Chef Mickey is a great way to meet Mickey and the gang and watching the monorail go by is pretty cool too. So those are my been there done that don't need to do again restaurants.

I totally agree with line 1. However I really enjoyed Sci-Fi...and I am so shocked on this thread how many times it is listed as a last resort TS! I totally agree with you on Chef Mickey. Been there for breakfast a couple of times and dinner once and the character interaction is good but everything else so-so.

So far the least favorite TS experience I have had and would not do again is Hollywood&Vine ( food cold, waitstaff rushed, booth felt crammed, difficult to take pics and interact with Chip&Dale which was disappointing since who doesn't love those two).

I heart hatter and epcotisbest but I don't heart T-rex. I have only been there once. Sorry guys! i will admit I am intrigued by the large steak you had:)
It's funny, but one of my favourite sayings in life is," What you see is what you get " So when we booked T- Rex I knew it was going to be loud with Dino's & Meteor showers, and kids going loopy at the theme thing,so what i wasn't expecting was a really great food experience but that's what we got..Awesome onion rings, great steaks & surf & turf, and really great cocktails.I like surprises at WDW and this was one of them.;)

I mean I'm not dude, but having ate there, it remind me nothing of Cape May and the Jersey Shore (bland like it's close neighbor the Captain's Grille); they don't even introduce any of our weird foods like Taylor Ham if I remember correctly (but that might be a buffet issue in the morning and needing generic buffet food)...but it is weird cause I feel the Beach Club has a very LBI feel...unfortunately for me, if it's not in the signature level and excluding quick service I do just a lot of the restaurants by "theme-ing" and the ambiance...

For me I will most likely never return to Chef Mickey's. Didn't care for the food just average if not below average food. The concept of the birds flying around doing what birds do just turned me off. But have to say for the character interaction it is worth doing atleast once.

I cannot in all good conscience, ever recommend Big River Grille. Two disasters years apart. I am a fool for giving it another shot. Regret it because Flying Fish is right there.

Now the funny thing is someone else's review that I read that was the same as mine and they went at a different time. The same perplexed, what the heck, thoughts I had.

The food is bland and not good for the price. How can you mess up a quesadilla? Bland burger, fries and bun that taste like sawdust. I can't even explain how bad and not worth it is. Not going for three strikes. I will never go there again. Two was enough to know.

Big River is terrible! We made the mistake of giving them a shot three different times, they are officially crossed off our list. Its such a shame because the location and outdoor dining area is so nice. Its a complete waste of the space.

I'd also add Planet Hollywood to the list- its dark, dirty, outdated, the food isn't any good and the service stinks.
