Restaurant at Pirates?

At the Disneyland resort in CA, I recall seeing a restaurant inside the entrance of the Pirates of the Caribbean . . . accross the water from where you board your boat. Or at least what I thought was a restaurant!

Looked like "outdoor" seating - as if the "outdoor" was inside the ride entrance so it's like eating out at night.

Is there such a place similar at the WDW Pirates location? If so, what's the name and does the Dining Plans include it or not?

-Cheers!

I have seen the Disneyland one before. That looks like it would be cool. As for DisneyWorld it stands alone. There is no restaraunt inside.

:( Bummer. No worries, though. WDW is so cool, other places make up for it!

I now see on the Disneyland site it's called "Blue Bayou". So at WDW, I presume Blue Bayou doesn't exist? Is there a similar place in the French Quarter? If so, what's that name?

The Magic Kingdom at WDW doesn't have a French Quarter. Pirates here is in Adventureland, close to the edge of Frontierland.

The closest restaurant to Pirates here is Pirata y Perico (The Pirate and the Parrot), which operates seasonally.

The closest year-round restaurant is Pecos Bills in Frontierland.

But, unfortunately, there is no equivalent to the Blue Bayou at the Magic Kingdom. Which is sad, since their monte cristo sandwiches are awesome!

There was a rumor floating around a couple years ago about converting the Adventureland Veranda to a Pirates themed character dining location. I can't for the life of me figure out why that hasn't actually come to pass, because I know it would be a guest magnet.

The closest thing to Blue Bayou in WDW (at least theme-wise) would be the San Angel Inn in the Mexico Pavilion in Epcot. There you eat in an "indoors but looks like outdoors at night" restaurant, with tables overlooking the water at the start of the Gran Fiesta Tour boat ride. (Though unfortunately, GFT is nowhere near as good as Pirates...)

Maybe that's why I love eating at San Angel. Of course, I don't hate the food anywhere near as much as the rest of the internet does... ;)

I'm just surprised that Disney hasn't tried any character dining aimed towards boys. They've fallen all over themselves to provide enough princess experiences to meet demand, yet nothing targeting the non-girl half of the population.

With this coming push to make Fantasyland even more girly than it already is, and another Pirates of the Caribbean movie on the way, I wonder if Disney might look into dusting off the Tortuga Restaurant idea.

Pirates at DLP has the Blue Lagoon restaurant (seafood and Creole menu) which is inside the ride. I've not eaten there but it looks lovely from the boats.

I agree, and now I have a little boy and my daughter doesnt really care about the princess all that much anymore. It would be real nice to have a pirate themed place to eat. I know my daughter and son would love it.

I could not agree more! I was quite shocked the last time I was at WDW and there really wasn't anything for boys. When I was younger Captain Hook, Mr. Smee, Robin Hood, Little John, Prince John, Pinocchio, etc. were found everywhere. Now, I didn't see any of them. I was pretty disappointed. I would LOVE a character meal with some of the more male friendly characters... unless I am missing something.
