Resorts back to using old mugs?

I stayed at Coronado Springs a few weeks ago.

They were all back to the Coronado Springs refillable mug, not the Year of a Million Dreams version.

I didn't see anyone with Dream mugs, so I doubt would have to doubt that they just ran out.

What's the situation at the other resorts? Are they all back to resort-specific mugs, or are they still selling the Dreams mugs?

I saw that too when I was there last week. I've only seen YoMD at the other resorts, but I was very pleased to still see the old Three Cabs design.

I actually read somewhere, I think allearsnet, that Coronado Springs is the exception to the rule when it comes to the YoaMD mugs and they kept their resort mug.

I believe the rest of the resorts do have the YoaMD mugs.

Perhaps because the CS mugs are larger that all of the other resort mugs?

I never realized how many people used the old resort mugs as a souvenier. I wonder if Disney knew...My friends and I still use the olds ones and never have been jumped by security...yet.

So, is Coronado Springs also the exception to the rule that you can now use the mugs for all resorts?

Say next year we go to Port Orleans again and I actually want a resort specific mug instead of this generic crap. So if I purchase the mug at Coronado Springs, do the rules allow me to use it for refills at the POR food court?

We also just purchased the YOAMD mugs at POR this past weekend......boring!

Will give them to kids to use for their drinks at home.....helps keep spills down :)

We stayed at POP and they had yomd mugs. I did see a lot of people using their old POP mugs and mugs from other resorts. I did not realize you could bring back your old mugs and reuse them....if I had known, I would have brought my old POR mugs.

Uh oh, I sense a Scathing Ethics discussion coming on use of Mugs from a previous visit.

I just miss the old mugs. The ones that held like 19 oz. I miss being able to fill it w/ice and put in a whole 12 oz. can of soda. BRING BACK THE OLD MUGS!!! I'd pay $2-3 more if they had the option for the bigger mugs again.

I agree, the old mugs had character, still love my original wilderness lodge mug, its the best for driving and drinking coffee and it has character.

Bring back the resort only versions!

Regretfully, the resorts are cracking down on mug use. Unless you purchased one after the institution of new bar codes, the mug is no longer valid. See, now they have all new bar codes that discount the old ones. Sorry mug-users.

Wait, I haven't heard of this. So now the mugs have bar codes? And if you bring it back next year, they scan it and you get a discount on refills?

When we saw the new YOMD mugs in May there were no barcodes - is this something new?

We were at POP in may and we bought the YoMD mugs and then saw a lot of people using the tie dye ones. So in December we are taking both so we can use them.
