Resort Surprise

Maybe this is not a surprise to most of you. However its been about 12 years since I last stayed on property. ( I hate when the mundane world conspires to foil my vacation plans...) Now we have December reservations at POR. Today I got a full color brochure from the resort with our name printed in it. It has dining and recreational tips. I realize that they send these to everybody, but it brought a smile to my day !

Wow!!!!! That would bring a surprise to my face too!!! I have a land/sea package booked for June 2005...I would love to receive something like this!!!
We are staying at the CBR..Only 230 more days!!!!!!!!!!!! :hammer: :hammer:

We didn't get one for our July trip...guess they're newish.

It says that the tips and suggestions are based on the information I provided on the website. I didn't book our trip on-line, but I have used their site for searching, especially the section where you type in when you were last there and it tells you what is new since then. I did like how it is personalized with our name. I know it will impress my teenager ! :lol:

I forgot the funniest part. I booked our trip more than 2 months ago. I have called 3 times to let them know that I've never received a confirmation receipt..... and I STILL haven't gotten that !! :lol: :lol:

Well as long as you are in the computer. Did you book yourself or use an agency. As the time gets closer you will get more paperwork.

I took a trip and stayed at Pop Century this past July and got one of these brochures. This was the first time I was going to WDW with the reservation being under my name so I just assumed they'd been doing this awhile. That brochure had pretty general information. I'm going again December of this year and booked a package for the first time (July trip was room reservation only). I spent over an hour talking on the phone with the lady asking all sorts of questions about the package (even stumped her on serveral) and found it interesting that the brochure I got this time around is longer and much more specific in dealing with questions I asked her over the phone so they definitely customize those brochures based on your conversation with them. Only a month and a half to go :sohappy:

We have recieved three of them. I think they are based on which resort you are staying at and if you have a package or not. When planning our honeymoon we first planned on staying at pop them moving to the GF. I recieced one for each. The first night at pop we would not have any tickets, so the mailing mentioned ticket options. The one for the GF was for a gold plan so it contained dinning suggestions at the GF. A few weeks later we decided to stay at pofq instead of pop, and I recieved another one for pofq which basically said the same as the one for pop. I think they are Disney's way of helping you get excited about your trip. :sohappy:

I've received two of them now. I got over the summer for my July AKL ressies and I just received one yesterday for my upcoming stay at CBR. I didn't get off work until 1:00am (darned fright fest :fork: ) so I didn't look too close, but it was a nice surprise to the end of my work day. I didn't get one on last years trip, so I'm guessing that they're fairly new.

I got one of those, too! It made me feel great! lol

It was personalized to what I had shown interest in, and to how often I'd been to WD in the past.

Very small, yet very cool and exciting way to look forward to an upcoming trip!

I loved it when we got those. They spelled our name wrong on everything they sent, but it still made me happy.

We just got one for our recently scheduled June trip--this one was even snazzier than what I have gotten in the past. What I thought was funny on our was that they kept referring to it as our first trip, even though it is our 8th and 7 of them have been booked directly through Disney. Oh, well--keep sending me the personalized mail, Disney!

Hi rosebud's mom! I actually received that semi-personalize itinerary yesterday! I'm leaving November 10 and reserved AS Sports on the phone. The guy who took my information asked me a bunch of questions that later appeared on the itinerary. We've gotten this before (last time was a couple of years ago) and it always brings a smile to my face . It mentions our stay at AS Sports, the fact that we have teens in the party and what would be cool for them, and so forth. I never did get the actual confirmation though but I have the number so that's good enough. Enjoy your trip!

And ours was from the manager of Port Orleans Riverside welcoming us back again, even though this will be our first time staying there ! :lol:

No matter, I love that personal touch. SLOWLY, ever so slowly, we're beginning to convert my husband.
