Resort sleeping arrangement options??

Hello all, I've got a sleeping arrangement question for ya...

On my trip to WDW in October there will be 3 of us total in one room, but each needing our own bed of some sort. I'm trying to discover all of my options.

I've seen, that if I stay at AKL or WL I have the opportunity to request a bunk bed, which would work for us. And I've also heard something about some of the deluxe resorts having some sort of day bed.

I guess my question to you is, in each of the resort categories (Value, Moderate, Deluxe) what are my options? Are there cots available? I know that things like bed types are only requests and not guaranteed, but I don't want to pick a resort that will not work for us (if such a resort exists).

Thanks for the advice.

We have stayed at the Poly, the Contemporary and the GF, and all 3 have the option of 2 queen size beds and a daybed in the room. The daybed is quite comfy as I have used it on occasion. I believe the Yacht and Beach Club also have daybeds. We've never stayed at those 2 resorts but I remember from reading Birnbaum's book that those 2 also had daybeds.

The largest standard room I've ever seen on property was at the Contemporary Resort, South Garden Wing, Corner Room. More spacious than any other room I've seen at WDW.

I would imagine that cots are available at all resorts. However, I am not 100% certain.

- Value resorts come with two full beds.
- Moderate resorts come with two full beds. However, some rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of Riverside have trundle beds.
- Certain rooms at the Wilderness Lodge and Animal Kingdom Lodge come with one queen bed and bunkbeds (most rooms have two queen beds).
- Rooms at the Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Boardwalk, and Yacht & Beach Club have two queen beds and a daybed.

It may be cheaper to get a small suite off-property, or in the hotel plaza. They often have two beds in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room.

The trundle beds are supposed to be pretty small, like a child could sleep in one but certainly not an adult. I havent seen them in person so I cant comment. Belle

If you don't mind the bunks, as you mentioned, then Widlerness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge is the place to stay. Requests like that are pretty much granted, so be sure they know thats what you NEED...not just something you WANT!

There's always the cabins at Fort Wilderness that sleep 6, so they would work too!

Hey...Its nobody's business WHY you need separate beds, but in a pinch, you could always put two bodies in one bed and have one sleep on top of the sheets and one under! :D

Can a family of 2 parents and 3 young kids (ages 6,4,3) be able to stay at an All Star Movies room or is that too small? Has anyone else tried this?

It may be too small. I Am not sure what the age cut off is, but I know you can only have a maximum of 4 people n a Value level resort. Have you given thoguht to the Port Orleans Riverside Bayou section?? They are the only one of the Moderates that can accomodate 5 people!!! It is a very lovely resort as well. I stayed there 3 times alone in 2004!!! Belle

You will not be able to stay in a value resort. Children under 3 can sleep in a pack and play crib, but you are beyond that stage of family life.

Port Orleans and the trundle bed will be the next cheapest way to go on Disney property.

2 value rooms will not be much more than one moderate, and you will get lots more space. In regular season (roughly the summer), at full price, 2 value rooms will be $200 per night, and one moderate will be $150.

Hehe, my family's got 6, and we sometimes have a guest--

We're going to Animal Kingdom Lodge and *whopee!* doubling up as usual.

Good times.

What a bonding experience.

You can request a ______ or rollaway at most moderate resorts (Port Orleans Riverside usually includes a rollaway) or most deluxe resorts offer bunks or daybeds:)

We did this at Pop Century last year, with 2 parents, & 3 teenagers (13, 14, & 16) 1 of the teenagers just slept on an air mattress on the floor. During the day, we propped the air mattress up against the wall so it was out of the way. If you do this, remember, only 4 people are supposed to be in the room, so you might not be able to do EMH.

An adult can sleep on the trundle beds without much of an issue.

How about a nice queen size inflatable mattress that you can buy before you go and not have to worry about it.....just a thought....

I'd recommend this too. We did that at AS Sports when my two nephews just refused to share a bed and it worked out just fine. As someone else said, you just prop the air mattress up and out of the way during the day so Mousekeeping can get in and work.

Wow, and he was me wondering about how much of a squeeze AKL would be with 2 adults and family (9/6/4) year olds.

Another option is to get two adjoining rooms at the Value level which may cost less than one room at the Deluxe level. Belle

This gives the added bonus of two bathrooms as well.

This is the soloution I would pick.
