Resort pools in December?

Does everyone use the resort pools in December? I'm going in a couple weeks (Dec 1-6, Port Orleans Riverside). Last time we went it was HOT (90s) and it was great to be in the pool... but I believe WDW area in December is more like mid 70s during the day, upper 50s for the low.

Mid 70's sounds like pool weather to me. I also understand that all the pools are heated.
Have a great time and don't forget your bathing suit.

We always go to Blizzard Beach the first week of December. So far we never had a problem with it being too cold and yes the pools are heated

It depends. Last year we had a few days where we woke up to low 30s/high 40s and it barely broke low 60s during the day. We did pick up at Blizzard Beach but it was pretty much a ghost town. Pools are heated but the lifeguards on duty at the time looked like popsicles and asked us if we had extra pairs of mittens when they saw us wearing ours as we passed.

We were there the 3rd week of December last year, it was in high 80's and the kids swam just about every day. However, the year before during the same week I don't think it got above 60.

We'll be there the first week in January and I know whatever the temps are my kids will swim, DH and I may have our gloves on at the pool but they will be in it.

I'm jsut making sure I bring large swim towels to wrap them in on the way back tot he room (we'll use the pool supplied ones to initially dry)

Hopefully we will get 70s at least but they will swim regardless

The weather was kind to us on our visit last year and we used the pool at AKL during Dec 25th - 30th. However, when we switched to GF for Dec 31st - Jan 3rd it wasn't warm enough to get the big toe wet, let alone strip off

We leave in two weeks, and if the temps stay where they are, it should be in the 80's. . . fingers crossed :)

You can hope but be prepared if it's not. We've been at the same time for the past 3 years (first 2 weeks of december) and we've had everything from 85 and sunny everyday to waking up to high 30s/low 40s and just breaking low 60s during the day.

I don't know about all of the pools but at the YC/BC they keep the water temp in the low 80's. The kids swim but the adults don't but I will sit by the pool and keep reminding them to get out when they turn blue.

I hear ya. . . our last Dec. trip was 80 the first three days, then overnight it dropped 30 degrees and it was a game of how many sweatshirts we could wear :lookaroun

Swimming pools in dec

As many posts here state that you can never tell, have been several times during Nov/Dec mostly weather and temp are great, no humidity and hardly any rain! We were here in Early Oct this year and it broke all records of hot temps it was crazy 96 deg 4 days running and it supposed to be cooling down!

All pools are heated and its great

Going back next week!:xmas: for 2 weeks to hell with the recession !!
