Resort parking fees question..

So, we are booked and it just hit me... nowhere in all my broken down fees, was a question or even statement about parking at the resort fees. Do they just spring that on people at check-in or what? I am not happy about it, obviously, think it is bull- but I do know about it. I would be pretty ticked though, if I booked, paid, and then was told I had to pay another 150- 200 bucks.
Should it not be on there somewhere when you book, pay?

No, I just booked Friday, it didn’t say anything anywhere about parking when I booked. I just thought that is an odd thing not to tell you ahead of time. I knew when I booked we would have to pay it but odd to me they are not telling people up front?

like most hotels, the parking fees are added upon checkout i believe

Oh, okay.
I just figured Disney, it being a package, with all the added tickets, memory maker etc. we pay for would have told that. I am going and knew we had to pay it anyway- just thought it was odd, that they don’t tell you that. I have never had to pay to park at a hotel before.. lol and not happy about paying to do it there, but not unhappy enough to not go, or not have a car to drive myself where I want to.

Okay, thanks. Maybe I am too far out, all I got was, a confirmation, my ticket breakdown, view, memory maker, dining and a follow up that it was 0 due.

The least magical goodbye they can give you, is a bill for letting your car sit outside of your hotel for a couple of days. :/

I think guests just need to know in advance that you "could" be charged if you park, which is what they show on the confirmation. If you change plans and didn't have a car then the fee doesn't hit. I would hate to be charged up front for something I may not use.

Also, when going through the online booking process on disneyworld.com, when you reach the screen that is the Order Summary, and just before you click the Purchase button, the screen where you enter all of the guest info, in the top left it gives you a summary of the resort, tickets, dates, etc, and shows 2 links - one that says View Package Inclusions, and another that says "View Important Details" - if you click that link about Important Details, the info above re Self Parking will appear in a pop-up box as well as info on ticket expiration.

I believe I have only stayed at one hotel that charged a parking fee, and I paid upon check in when they told me where the garage entrance was.

From what I understand, they will be associating your vehicle's plate with your resort account. You will be charged for each night you park on the grounds. I believe they are/have installed tech that reads the plates of parked vehicles.
That way, if you did not park there one night out of the 7 you are there, you will not be charged for that night.

That makes sense, I guess. Last year we drove 2 vehicles, because our son and his family also drove down. Wow, at OKW, paying that twice would hurt for our 9-10 day trips.

I hear you. We always fly in and get a rental car. We usually score a midsize suv for the week for under $200. Now the parking will cost that much.
