Does anyone know how much the resort mugs are? Where can you have them filled at Boardwalk? Can they be filled anywhere else besides the resort you're staying at?

I fyou go to the Whirley site the mugs currently used by WDW list for 1.61 per cup when you are buying more than 50 cases. 36 per case so you know Disney gets them for much less.

To answer another part of the original question, refillable mugs can be filled at the BopardWalk at:

Spoodles Pizza Window
BoardWalk Bakery
Leaping Horse Libations

It's not advertised, but I have also gotten refills at:
ESPN Club
BelleVue Lounge
(when neither were busy)

The thing that bothered me when I visited (and stayed at BW- I second the list above for fillup spots at BW) is that they said for "hygeine" reasons, they could not fill our mugs directly, and had to give us a paper cup anyway!!!!! So what's the point of the mug??

YMMV, but as for filling up at other resorts, they took our card every time, so they would know if we were at the wrong resort.

When I did carry my mug, I attached it to the strap of my swing pack.

Yea.. I used to love and watch people at POR wash out their cups with the water dispenser then use a napkin to scrub it out and pour it down the drip tray of the soda dispensers before they had the wash stations.

They're not resort specific :( but there are new ones this year.

How exciting they finally are different!! Of course now I'm going to actually have to buy a new one when I go next.

Again I never throw then away but how many do you see laying around after spectromagic.

Supposedly all trash at Disney is processed for recyclables before being dumped in the landfill. The cups are more often than not redirected to the recycling stream.

So long as the cups are marked appropriately, they are accepted by most community recycling programs. I live in a town which actually rewards us with points which can be redeemed for coupons, discounts, and wotnot for recycling (http://www.recyclebank.com). I'm constantly thinking twice before throwing something in the trash vs. the recycling bin.

There are very few areas which either do not process their trash or do not have a recycling program. We're not the same "throw away" society we were 20 years ago.
