Resort housekeeping

The bottom line in response to this thread is that there is no science backing these housekeeping safety measures Disney still has currently in place so people are disgusted that their expensive resort rooms are not being cleaned. Period. There is no excuse for it at this point in the pandemic. If it is a staffing issue, then that points to something else entirely that Disney has no control over (govt handouts = people don’t want or need to return to their jobs) and I don’t honestly know which of these is contributing to the ongoing lack of housekeeping services. Likely both- lack of staff and Disney cost cutting but regardless it’s ridiculous for me to pay $8K for a week at the GF resort and not have our beds made, toilets cleaned, sinks wiped and room vacuumed. Even every other day would be acceptable at this point. Get it together Disney. Or bring down room rates which isn’t likely to happen

To.open up the rest of the resorts, WDW needs more staff hence the bonus incentive to lure interested to apply.
Notable (but not surprising) that the focus is on enough housekeeping hires to open all the shuttered resorts, not to provide adequate housekeeping at the resorts that are already open.

They are saving an absolute ton of money by not providing housekeeping. They have not discounted rates a penny after cutting out this service.
My expectation was that they are still switching out towels, emptying trash, replacing coffee supplies.
Last week I stayed at CSR and had to call EVERY time I wanted towels, trash or coffee.
Totally unacceptable.
If they are cutting out 80% of the service, at least provide the other 20% every day.

F&B and Merch aren't paying $1,000 signing bonuses, only housekeeping. Yes, they're staffing up everywhere, but housekeeping is a *particular* problem right now.

I wonder how many apply then realized housekeeping is not for them? Sure they probably do not get the $1,000 but overall that doesn’t help the staffing issues at the resorts if people don’t stay or switch to other positions.
