Resort Cribs

We leave on May 25th and my husband and I have decided not to haul the pack n play on the plane etc to the resort..but we would like to know if anyone has had any problems using the crib service provided by the resorts...we would prefer a pack n play type bed...as our daughter is now 2 and at home sleeps in a toddler bed because she could climb out of her crib! So if anyone has used their resort service could you please let me know..good, bad or indifferent? Thanks so much!

THe crib we had once was a pack n play style. My SIL had the same style last fall. They stayed at the POR and CBR.

And as for cribs, Disney has this to say: Graco travel cribs are available to guests at Resorts at no additional charge. However, as there are only a limited number of cribs available, guests should request a crib prior to their arrival.

Thanks. I had called and requested one to be in the room, but the guy I had sounded young and didnt know what a pack n play was and couldn't tell me anything other than it was a crib! Glad to know its that style. Thanks for the info!

It depends on where you are staying. When we stayed at the Contemporary we had a regular metal full size crib. When we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Vero Beach, they had the pack n plays in every room in the closet.

Just a little side note, at the AKL, we were annoyed that they never changed the crib's sheets or "made" the crib up for my son. My son moves around a lot and the sheets would be all crumpled up in a ball by morning. Every night we had to fix it ourselves.

Thanks for the info...I think I will make another call before the 25th just so I know for sure..but I am trying to cut down on what we have to drag on the airplane...five kids, car seat, booster seat, diaper bag, suitcases........ahhhh am I crazy or what...only two of the kids are mine...the others niece and nephews! But it will be FUN~~~~

Can anyone confirm this? We need a crib and are going to be at AKL. If everyone thinks it's best that I call to double check then I will, but if this info can be verified, that is good enough for me.

Just for clarification...I neither needed nor requested a crib at AKL or BWV...they were in the closet, so I would assume that if there wasn't one in your room, one could be easily obtained. At the Yacht Club, the crib was out in the hall, probably to be moved back into storage. That leads me to assume that they might have a more limited number and should definitely be requested. This crib also had somewhat (to my casual eye) ill-fitting bumpers. They appeared to be standard, rather than port-a-crib, sized, so were "overlapped" on one side.

At OKW, all rooms have a pack-n-play in the closet. When my son was little, he had trouble sleeping all night in a pack-n-play, so we requested a regular crib. We were able to get a large-sized crib, which was a little difficult to get him in and out of, as the sides did not go down. My feeling is that they prefer that everybody use the pack-n-play style, but they will make the permanent style available upon request. YMMV.

The DVC's have pack and plays in the room. you can get a crib. As someone mentions they are the metal bars type. They will not give you bumpers unles you sign a waiver. (Thats if you need them of course)
