Wasn't even aware there were other forums haha! I like it here. Just a thought though, I do have trouble with the acronyms sometimes & have no idea what a lot of them mean as I am quite new so if anyone could tell me what "DH" or "DS" stand for that would be a start. Thanks x
DH = Dear Husband or Disney Husband

DS = Dear Son etc

so DS14 would be your 14yo son

This is the only site I come to. I have only been on here since October of last year but you guys have made me feel welcome and at home from the get go. I hope I have passed that on to others. The people I have connected with on here are part of what I Love about Disney World trips. Some of the most memorable experiences we have had there have involved open, friendly people who are of a positive frame of mind.

We need time for things to happen.
Ya know what Shookie, we are of the same mind set. I dont mean to down any site, but wdwmagic is the best I have ever found, and yes, there are alot of us who post daily (personally, I post here more than on facebook) and we do have alot of members who (as much as I hate the terminology) *lurk*, which is fine :) We all hope the info they need, all members find our experiences and opinions, helpful.

You know it!

This IS my Facebook.
I 'lurked' here for a looooooong time before I started posting anything of consequence.
I still don't post anything of consequence but I'm a lot more comfortable doing it. ;)

Personally, I think this site has a much cleaner look- all of the trip countdowns and animated, sparkly things get on my nerves on the 'other guys' site. I've never posted there but have 'lurked' as well. It does seem popular with many people, though. I was wondering the other day about the two sites- how people choose a preference for one, etc.
It also seems to me like kind of a 'popularity contest' there, what with the Thread of the Month and all- but that's probably just my insecurities showing :oops: Gwarsh!

Firstly, I do post on the Disboards, but I got sucked in through their Cake Chatter...so that's the big reason I go over there. While many people on here ask "how" when it comes to fancy WDW cakes, a lot of people over there ask "what." So, I will often pop in over there to give people cake design ideas if I can help. I will often play around in the restaurant area and post a little after giving cake suggestions. If you see me over there, I'm TiggerTrigger.

Still, I MUCH prefer the conversation over here. Disboards is a forum whereas WDWMagic is a community :) I also would agree that things are not as friendly over there. And it is correct that the mods get pretty nasty if there's any back talk or disagreement. There's actually one member I've dubbed "THE HAG" b/c that's just what she is. She's a nasty troll with nearly 13K posts. She had the nerve to suggest my children had some kind of mental defect because they believed the characters and effects were real...happened about a year ago...and as a result, I no longer post in any section on the DIS except for the restaurants area. Life is too short to have to voluntarily deal with hags. ;)
