Hey everyone,

I am trying my best to find the proper places to post each question I have haha. My wife and I are booked for our one-year wedding anniversary in late October/early November 2016. We are so excited and one of the many things we share in common is a love for food. Well...I may be a little more obsessed than she is but nonetheless. We are in our late 20's and it's been a little while since I have been to Disney World. She has only been once and was a small child. I have been many times, but I was never really in the position to make the reservations myself or deal with the planning ahead. I was hoping people might be able to recommend some of their favorite restaurants because I know many of them book up 180 (190 for on property guests right?) days in advance...or so I hear. We are very open to any type of food so any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

I'm guessing you want table service restaurant suggestions? Or do you also want CS as well?

And yes it's 180+10 for on property guests ADRs

Both would be great! We are really open to whatever but now that everyone plans everything so far ahead of time, I get the feeling it will be necessary to make at least some reservations in advance.

Nice places to try without kids:
San Angel Inn at EPCOT - so romantical by the ducky boat ride
Restaurant Marrakesh at EPCOT - belly dancers!
Be Our Guest at MK - also romantical and I even overheard CM's talking about making reservations 6 months in advance to have anniversary dinners there
Sanaa at Animal Kingdom Lodge - Indian & African cuisine
Flying Fish Cafe at Boardwalk - fine-ish seafood dining
Kona Cafe at Polynesian - Asian fusion stuff
Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge - steak house
Fulton's Crab House at Disney Springs - fancy seafood joint
Bongos Cuban Cafe at Disney Springs - lovin the ceviche and vaca frita and maduros

Food is half the fun! Would definitely recommend Boma for a variety of unique eats. Plus it makes for a nice few hours exploring the awesomeness of Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Another resort favorite of ours is Kona Cafe. Less busy than it's neighboring Ohana, with even more delicious eats in my opinion.

Enjoy the planning!

if you are adventurous,as you said, the new skipper canteen will have unusual fare for you. worth a try and a little less formal than some of the others mentioned- variety is nice.

Resorts - California Grill at GF during Wishes (signature restaurant), Artisit Point at WL (signature restaurant), Whispering Canyon at WL for a good time (interactive and loud) recommend highly breakfast or dinner (BBQ skillet), The Wave at Contemporary and Beaches and Cream at BC.

MK - Be Our Guest for lunch (quick service) or dinner (table service), The Plaza (table service) and Casey's Corner (quick service) huge great hot dogs.

Epcot - Via Napoli in Italy fresh stone oven pizza, Le Ceillier in Canada steakhouse (signature restaurant), Bindergatern in Germany for a fun time with a live polka band and buffet (just know you sit with other people) or Coral Reef mostly seafood but you dine in the aquarium.

HS - 50s Prime Time Diner home cooked favorites and dine like in the 50s

AK - Not much here yet but go over to The Lodge and check out Boma

DS - Fultons Crab House (signature restaurant) fabulous fresh seafood and steaks, Earl of Sandwich (quick service) always busy but great sandwiches with lots of variety

Those are just a few of our top favorites but we always have more! Have a great trip!

Congratulations on booking your trip!

Some of our favorite sit down spots are California Grill, Brown Derby, Artist Point, San Angel Inn, Boma, and Liberty Tree Tavern. This site has awesome menus to explore so take some time to do so-you'll be in heaven.

Happy planning and have a wonderful anniversary trip!

I like a little party time after dinner so I tend to go to places where I won't mind hanging out and having another drink and places that have or are close to other Bar/Lounges or night spots.

That being said I like:

Boatwright's (POR)
Bluezoo (Dolphin)
Grand Floridian Café (GFR)*
House of Blues (DS)*
Kimonos (Swan)*
Kona Café (Poly)
Maya Grill (CSR)*
Paradiso 37 (DS)*
Raglan Road (DS)*
Sanaa (AKL-KV)
Turf Club (SSR)*
Wave (CR)

BTW many of the places listed above may not need a ADR so if you are having trouble finding places give them a shot especially the ones marked with a * plus you could always dine at the bar.

Other places you might like that don't need an ADR:

Crew's Cup Lounge (YCR)
Kona Island (Poly)
Lava Lounge (DS)
Territory Lounge (WL)
Wave Lounge (CR)

As you will be there during food & wine at Epcot don't forget to take advantage of all the different stalls. Remember if you are on the meal plan you can use a snack credit for most if not all the featured food items. We had two fabulous afternoons grazing round the world last year. Expect to use around 6 to 8 credits each, depending on what you choose & your appetite, instead of a ts meal. Just pick a weekday & try for one thats cooler rather than too hot as there's not too much ready shade doing this.

If you will be paying out of pocket check the back of the official guidebook (Birnbaums?) There are a lot of dining coupons in the 2016 edition including Marakesh, the China Pavilion, Bongos and a few others.

If you do this, be aware that the snack portions are very small.. Sure, you can try lots of things, but don't expect to fill up on them without burning through QS credits.. (Speaking from experience.. ;) ) They will probably have all the bugs worked out, but when we were there in November, not everyone knew how to ring up 3 snacks as a QS meal credit.. (or that they can actually do it..)

A couple of new favorites of ours from our last trip:
Captain's Grille at the Yacht Club resort.
If you like seafood (shellfish specifically), you can't go wrong with the dinner buffet at Cape May at the Beach Club resort. An endless supply of clams, muscles, shrimp and crab legs. They have non seafood stuff.. but it may not be worth the cost if you don't like seafood.

We also did breakfast at Boma. Plenty of new things to try for the adventurous eaters, and plenty of traditional American choices for those with more tame palates.

Asking about WDW restaurants is kinda like saying "What is your favorite TV show?" The answer is different for everyone, and there are so many choices that it's easy to be overwhelmed. That said here, listed in order, are my favorites -

The California Grill, up on top of the Contemporary Resort. This is by far my favorite restaurant on the planet! Not only is there an incredible view overlooking the Magic Kingdom, but the food and service are amazing (albeit a bit pricey!).

The Coral Reef, inside the Seas with Nemo pavilion. Great seafood with an incredible view into the 6 million gallon aquarium, watching fish, turtles, sharks and rays.

'Ohana, an all you can eat restaurant in the Polynesian Resort. They bring out several courses of appetizers, and then start on the real meal - beef, chicken and shrimp on skewers, as much as you want!

San Angel Inn in the Mexican pavilion in Epcot. Twilight atmosphere all day long, with a fairly new menu providing excellent, authentic Mexican food. Tables are packed in kinda tight, but still a great experience.

Keep those questions coming!
