Sadly we may have to cancel October and go on another time.
I was wondering what about April ......is easter really really busy ?
and what about MAY ?

End of feb. through 2nd week Mar.
Last week Apr. thru may

You are much better off going in May.

We were just there during early May and stayed at POR. Crowds were generally not bad and with the use of Fastpass everything was great. As expected, certains attractions, like the "mountains", had longer lines than others but nothing was ridiculous. I would highly reccommend this time of year.

I wouldnt even chance April for Easter. That is supposed to be the biggest crowds on record. I have gone in may several times and again this year (May 18-25th at POR) and I loved it perfect swimming weather, lines werent bad and we were in Disney!!! Good luck!!

Since my husband and I are teachers, and our own kids were in school, too, we've almost always had to go in April. The only truly horrendous day is Easter Sunday - DO NOT GO to the MK that day under ANY circumstances - but the rest of the week isn't as bad. Granted, it's crowded - no denying that - but the parks have been open later when we've been there in April. In addition, if you use the fastpass option, and read all the guidebooks and follow their touring advice, you can avoid long lines.:animwink: Sure, it would have been nicer to go at less crowded times of the year, but we didn't really have a choice...if you don't, either, don't despair!:)

April ain't that bad

Next year will be our fourth visit - each time we have gone in April (school holidays) and found that only in the immediate run up to Easter do the crowds get bigger.

The secret is to go early in the month (depending on when Easter falls) and then do as much as you can before the crowds around Easter weekend. Don't expect to see/do much on Easter weekend.

The biggest problem is flights - April 2003 holiday was booked January 2001 (Virgin holidays)

another point to consider, the week of Easter is always the second most expensive time of the year to go. The week of Christmas thru New Years being number 1 in terms of price. May will be slightly cheaper. Take a look at the pricing schedules on the Disney Website for more information!! Good luck!!

We went this last April after Easter, thinking that crowds would be lighter than they were during this time of year than in years past. Boy, were we wrong. We have to travel this time of year not only because of kids in school, but because my brother-in-law works in TV news and has many weeks out of the year dedicated to work because of "sweeps periods"--how they gadge their advertizing rates. We used up the last few days of the kids Easter break Wed-Sun, then had them miss school for the next week.

Although crowds thinned by about 1/5th during the second week, it was still crowded. Didn't help that all the parks' hours shortened--except for Epcot. In fact, only Epcot wasn't so bad crowd-wise (although TT line was looooong). MK was turning away patrons by early afternoon the entire week after Easter. And I'm certain I read that they were doing the same for the week prior to Easter.

And yes, all hotel pricing as well as airfare were "peak season" rates, which I'm certain don't go down until all potential school holidays, including Spring Breaks for colleges, are over.

So I, too, say that if you can wait until May or go earlier, like in late March, do that instead. But you don't specify if you're tied to school vacations like so many of us are.

Another discovery we found was that every other person we ran into while at WDW was from the U.K. In fact when we ate at a local Sizzler on one of our days off, it seemed like we were the only "Yanks" in the restaurant.

How thick were the Brits? During the "Stars & Motorcars Parade" that we saw 10 days after Easter, the emcee/narrator guy asked, "who here is from Great Britain" and a huge cheer went up.

Turns out there were very cheap packages being sold from London to Orlando. Adding into this is the fact that British kids get 3 weeks off for "holiday" around Easter time. Most families were there for 10-14 days. I asked both a CM and a employee of our rental house area if the British invasion is common during this time of year and they both said that for the last decade or so it was. Then again, a Brit Dad whom I met at the airport as we were leaving said that they had been to Orlando a few years ago, but due to 9/11 the travel packages for this year to Orlando were insanely cheap/offers that were hard to refuse.
