Can someone please explain to me what the codes mean? I never used codes before so all this is new to me. I am traveling from 12/1 - 12/9 and my package is already paid in full so can I still use them? We have the Magic Your Way Plus Dining. Thanks!!

You'll be best to ask this one in the Trip Planning board, you'll get all the answers you need there. This thread is discussing the systems upgrades to the reservation system. :)

I just tried calling (bright and early) for reservations for the beginning of Feb. and was told that the system right now could not do any reservations past Jan. 20th. I was told to try back after Wednesday of this week (Oct. 25th).

Don't remind me. I have magical express to add to clients reservations, final payments to make and quotes to do....... still waiting.

Based on what I'm reading, I can draw a few conclusions:
1. The Test (or Staging or UAT) environment does not exactly match the Production environment.
2. The estimated up time (sometime around 1:00pm tomorrow) is a guess. They may know the problem, but haven't devised the solution. Or, they may still be trying to figure out why it's not working.
3. The Project Manager hasn't slept in days.

Thanks for all of the updates everyone. I actually managed to get my Thanksgiving trip updated and finalized just before they went out last week.

(As it turns out, we ended up at the Swan because it was most flexible for our needs, but along the way I found out that the Swan itself offered a AAA and government rate that the Disney system did not even show for the Swan...)

Anyway, cool to hear about how the system update is going. Keep us in touch....

It was. Or at least thatis what she told me.

Of course, I just tried again, spent another 20 minute son the phone only to get someone who told me the system was up but now down again.

So far I have spent at least $45 in long distance calls to Disney trying to make reservations. I am going to give them one last try tonight, but I have a budget and I am traveling this weekend, so if they can't get me a decent price then, I am just going to go off site.

Try Expedia (although if Disney's main system is down, so will their connect to it also be -- but at least the line to talk to a rep will be avoided).

And in case you are willing to stay at the Swan or Dolphin, they have a toll-free number, (888) 828-8850. And as I recently found out, they have great rates (AAA, other groups like senior citizen, government rates, etc.) that are even better than internet specials. And there is the WDW Magic code rate there also (which you can find on the Trip-Planning page). I would call them if you cannot get Disney.

When Disney quoted the Swan to me, their lowest rate on Thanksgiving was $309. But when I called the Swan and Dolphin number directly, they quoted me a AAA rate of $184, and ultimately I got an even better "government" rate of $165.

So, while the system is down, this is at least one other option that may turn out to be a good one.

Is it up today?

And how did actual hotels work this weekend for check-in, especially if people wanted to make changes on-site?

I called around 8:30 am today and got through no problem. Was told that the system has a few "bugs", but I didn't run into any of them!

The Swan and Dolphin are not Disney owned resorts. So by calling them directly you can book discount rates.

Now if you call Disney they will offer you the rack rates. That would be the same if the system is/was down or not.
