Can you make all new members put there birthdate (at least month and year) in their profile?

I don't see a reason for this... some people just don't want to disclose this information.

Well the year would actually help a ton. It helps us gague if a person is out of line sometimes or maybe just a little young, and therefore within his own range of experience.

There is nothing in life to suggest that your age has anything to do with experience or opinion.

It just stops you drinking, getting married, having s*x (legally), until the authorities decide you're old enough.

Either way... you'll never know the person's true birthday. Hell, I could be 36 years old, 12 years old, or 18 years old.... the way I act may give it away, but it may not for some people.

It might be nice to require people to indicate an age group, such as "10 and under", "11-18", and "19 and up". Like someone said, there's no guarantee that people will be truthful, but I'm sure the majority of people would not have any reason to hide their age. I think it can be useful to know when you are dealing with a much younger member. Most people would probably agree that they would give a younger kid more latitude.

I of course would totally lie (a lady never tells her age! :lol: ), but that is a really good idea...I'd be truthful in an age range! Of course we all would take it easy on youngsters...I hope, anyway. At least I know I would, and I'm the only person I can speak for!
