An autopia style attraction could stay on the plot. Just not the dirty, smelly, noisy and bland attraction we have today.

I've often wondered how CM's deal with the fumes all day long. I've got to imagine more than one has gotten sick from it. I'm ready to breathe some fresh air after just being around it for 10 minutes.

I don't think there's ANY chance TRON would get built in the MK... At least not like the one in Shanghai. The ride vehicles, I believe, would prevent it in the States.

Let's just say that America's more... "rotund" population just wouldn't make it practical, IMO. It's an odd position to be in, and not all that comfortable.

And I'm a fairly in shape guy, and after a full day in the park, even I found it a bit difficult to get up off the ride vehicle. Knees and legs took a second to adjust.

Now picture the masses at WDW getting up off their Rascal scooters, trying to get on a lightcycle, and then if they succeeded, trying to then get back OFF of them to flop back on their scooters.

Were it ever built in WDW, they would HAVE to do something different to accomodate the masses.

The back car of one of the trains in Shanghai had normal seats for those that couldn't (or didn't want to) ride a lightcycle. I never once saw it being used.

We will have to see how guests here handle Flight of Passage.

The Tron ride vehicle isn't unique. Many parks have a motocycle type coaster. The Pony Express ride at Knotts Berry Farm uses the same type of ride vehicles. They can take a fairly large person. I'm not saying it's confortable but it is doable.

All three of those are much more upright than the vehicles in Shanghai. Frankly those all look like mostly seated positions dressed differently with restraints.

EDIT TO ADD: Notice, I said I didn't believe it would get built in the MK exactly like in Shanghai. I could see it if they changed the ride vehicles to something similar to the pics you posted.

But... I also think the whole "hook" of TRON in Shanghai IS the ride vehicles. Once you get past those, the coaster is frankly a shorter, less intense (and less fun IMO) version of Rock N Roller Coaster.

so according to wiki.....
The track length has been the subject of incorrect discussion over the years. Through aerial photography and research it has been determined that the attraction was never lengthened, but shortened 3 times.[9][10] On opening day the track was approximately 3,118 feet. The attraction saw its length greatly reduced for the first time in 1974 with the construction of Space Mountain - two southern curves were shortened and the entire north portion of the track was reduced - thus shortening the ride to ~2,760 feet. An even larger section was removed to make room for Mickey's Birthdayland sometime between late 1987 and early 1988 - this time the track was reduced to ~2,191 feet. In 2012 the final curve was again shortened to make way for Dumbo the Flying Elephant diminishing the ride to ~2,119 feet. In the end, the current attraction has lost over 32% of its original length

Now I don't know if this is all correct or not.... if so was it more themed at other points... I live in Oklahoma so I don't get to go often especially compared to annual pass holders.

The problem is, "..the ones with little kids" are the majority of the people at MK.

MK is not a thrill park. We have those all over this country, including Orlando. The Magic Kingdom is so different, and special, because it appeals to all. There's a "magic" about it that can't compare to any thrill ride or thrill park.
That is why the people with season passes to Cedar Fair or Six Flags parks still spend thousands of dollars to visit Disney World.
You know what I said, but instead you twist it to making me want Disney to put a ride like Mako at MK and that is FAR from the case

A Disney park needs to appeal to everyone in a magical place with mesmerizing theming it DOES NOT just include little kids -- Walt himself believed that. A thrilling coaster would be nice, but since the other parks have beautiful thrill rides it's not so bad, but my point was that as the most popular park on Earth it's sad how there isn't one, or at the very least, NOT A SINGLE NEW HEADLINER IN OVER 20 YEARS.

Those back rests lay forward and lock you in a laying down almost position. You ride it exactly the same as the Tron coaster in bike riding mode. I've been on a few of these across the country. Tron is not a unique coaster.

Apparently there are pills to fix that.

Exactly my point!

MK needs a family ride (or a not very thrilling height requirement ride) more than a Coaster, but it wouldn't hurt to have one as it would help gator to everyone and truly justify the attendance.

I think you guys misunderstand what I said. "All" is not just kids.. it's families, together.
If you start getting into thrill rides, and no they don't have to be Mako, but ones that are even 48" and up.. then you are taking out the small kids.
Walt wanted to create a place for families to enjoy as a unit, correct?
Not parents sitting while a kid was on a kiddie ride, and not kids sitting in a corral while the rest of the family went on something.

Of course that will happen now with the babies and toddlers, but once they are out of toddlerhood, then the can do everything. That won't be the case if thrill rides come. I don't know of any other park in the world that is similar. That is one of the reasons why it is so loved.

He wanted one that everyone could enjoy. There are couples that go to Disney, there are families with teens. Your logic is flawed.

No, it isn't. Couples and teens can enjoy those same attractions. They are not restricted from them.

ETA- Cedar Point is a place where "everyone" can enjoy. They have Planet Snoopy for the younger kids, thrill rides that require a 54" height for the teens and adults.
So, they cover "everyone". But, what they don't have is an entire park that the family can enjoy- together.
What do you think parents enjoy more? Standing behind a partition watch their kids drive a car at an amusement park.. or riding a car together with their child who is driving?
THAT is what makes Disney World so special.

No, it is you that is misunderstanding. Notice Walt's use of the word "only". What Walt was saying is that there has to be a mix of rides. He isn't saying that all rides have to appeal to everyone, but that you have to have adult rides as well as kiddie rides.

No, it is.

A couple may love coasters, so they would appreciate a Coaster.

Your trying to make me look like an idiot -- it's laughable really. So you're saying there cannot be any height requirements on account of little Timmy not being able to ride?

Come back when he's older, or let the families or whatever that enjoy it ride it. That's why there is a balance of wonderful rides like Pirates &a The Haunted Mansion. There's absolutely zero reason to not put a Coaster in.

You are implying that a combination of rides is bad and that only rides a toddler can ride are good.

I edited that comment before you posted this. Please read it, it actually addresses your comment that I'm quoting. What you're describing is every amusement park in America, and Universal/IoA.

I'll agree to disagree with you. Adult rides and kid rides can be the same. It's what makes up the MK. They aren't rides where you're watching your kid.. they're rides that all can enjoy, with or without kids in the party. A 4 year old can love space mountain and a 40 year old can love space mountain, same with Haunted Mansion, and pirates, and so on. That is creating "rides that appeal to all".
