was a joke.

It's a discussion. Quantifying something turns you off? Fine I'll respond how you want...
Ok
It was done before Bon Jovi. You give them too much credit.
But as it was done before Bon Jovi you have no need to be proud or ashamed.
I should have said they have nothing to be proud of or ashamed.I'm neither. Wasn't me they were (or weren't) copying.
I will give you those bands but not Van Halen, Crue or Def Leppard that were doing it before.I'm not saying no bands looked or sounded like Bon Jovi before Bon Jovi. I'm simply listing the bands that were obviously heavily promoted as Bon Jovi clones, and all the bands I mentioned, did so after Slippery When Wet.
Hell, Skid Row, Cinderella and Firehouse all got record deals based on Jon's recommendation to the record company.

But it's painfully clear you will not listen to another opinion if it's not yours.
Just watched last night The Rolling Stones in London live on tv.OMG. They sounded awful, sorry Mick, but the good ole days are gone, even with the extra musicians on stage, didn't add to their sound quality. And the prices for the tickets were outrageous
I thought is was funny watching Mick prance around the stage in his vain attempt to emulate the moves of a younger man.Just watched last night The Rolling Stones in London live on tv.OMG. . No bigger ripoff was a song on Leppard's last studio album. Completely ripped off Have A Nice Day:

Led Zep ripped off the old blues men, Maiden were Priest copiests, Metallica blatantly ripped off Diamond Head etc etc. I know Leppard are generally despised in the UK but I wouldnt have thought a band classed as an even bigger joke would be the source of influence for a sound change.
Dates back to their early years when they were accused of selling out to the US market. A stigma they have never escaped.I didn't know DL was despised in the UK.
Not sure who you think is classified as the "bigger joke", but I can tell you without any uncertainty, Def Leppard, as much as I love them, is not nearly as big as Bon Jovi. Did you listen to those 2 songs? You can't deny that DL ripped the chorus off. The guitar riff is exactly the same.

The joke part is again how Bon Jovi are viewed in the UK and europe, only Knickleback generate more negative comment from rock fans.
Just thought I'd share this. Lists like this aren't a huge deal, but given that this was voted on by the public, I think it holds a bit more water.
A British list, surprisingly different from VH1s but voted for by listeners and readers
