Did it mention anything about timing for this renovation? Heading there in February and would be a bummer if it is down
Edit, looks like it will be down when I go and not opening until the spring
Closing October 2025 and reopening Spring 2026, unfortunately
A lot of people don't like the 3D and prefer this attraction just 2D...Removing 3D from rides that were intrinsically built with it in mind is the lamest move ever. Why even bother riding at all; the 3D is one of the few things the ride had going for it.
It’s an odd choice for WDSP. Probably the last place I’d want to spend money in that park. I feel similarly toward Epcot. Spend the money in Future World.Seems like a passion project that doesn't really contribute to the ride narrative or IP beyond understated world-building. I can appreciate it on merit, Ars Gratia Artis but I wouldn't care one way or another if this made its way to EPCOT.
They should make 2D glasses for those that don't like the 3D and have it optional instead of turning it off for everyone.A lot of people don't like the 3D and prefer this attraction just 2D...

OR if a ride is made with 3D being a major component of it, just make the ride how you developed it and people who don't like 3D don't need to go on!They should make 2D glasses for those that don't like the 3D and have it optional instead of turning it off for everyone.
I guess the big difference between my suggestion and your hypothetical is that offering 2D glasses is that offering 2D glasses wouldn't affect the ride experience for those that continue to wear 3D glasses.OR if a ride is made with 3D being a major component of it, just make the ride how you developed it and people who don't like 3D don't need to go on!
It's a crazy concept, I know, but everything doesn't need to be for everyone! If they make a coaster and during the development they decide they want it to have inversions, some people will not like that, and that's fine! They either go on or don't!
The sense of entitlement that a lot of people have these days, especially at places like theme parks where they are trying to have a vast number of different experiences for every type of person, is insane. These people are selfish and think that everything should be for only them. They're the ones who complain and are the loudest and cause Disney to do things like remove 3D from A 3D RIDE LOL!!!! Disney is the best in the game at having experiences for every type of person all throughout their parks, but these type of people want to ruin things for others just because they don't like it or their bodies (physically and mentally) can't handle it. Like I get it, 3D causes major mental strain on a lot of people. But that's on the individual to NOT GO ON A RIDE THAT IS 3D! That's not on Disney to stop making 3D rides altogether when they work so well for certain experiences, like Ratatouille, Flight of Passage, and Spider-Man for some examples.
A lot of people don't like the 3D and prefer this attraction just 2D...
I don't think it is overly complicated and requires analysis or blaming people for this or that. There just seems to be a legitimately large number of guests (and it seems Disney itself) that believes this particular attraction is actually a better experience in 2D. I have heard this noise coming out of Paris long before it was cloned for Epcot.
This is one of those occasions where I will give them the benefit of the doubt.Or Disney's just being cheap and doesn't want to deal with the cost of cleaning/maintaining the 3D glasses
