Is Rat open until park close? Like can I get in line at 9:59? E

Edit: Oh. Boarding passes.

Re: Transformers. Yes, Spider-Man is better, but Transformers has most of its screens simulating speed, whereas the majority of the Spider-Man screens are extensions of a physical set until the end. Both are good. I haven't ridden Rat yet but I'm willing to bet Transformers is better.

Seeing as they haven’t built a new country since 1989 I don’t think there should be much concern over loss of expansion plots
Eh, there were rumors before the pandemic, so I held out some hope.

Also holding onto that tiny hope of "maybe management will change some day and do something with all those spaces...", but that's a tough one to stay optimistic about.

Spider-Man is a masterpiece.

Rat is a solid ride with a very pretty mini-land.

Both are better than transformers by a mile.
I like Rat. I think, when wait times hit about 20 - 30 mins, it will be the perfect addition to World Showcase.

But it is literally just ferrying you from movie screen to movie screen. And then you sit still and watch a movie. That’s it.

Transformers is an awful franchise and the character designs are cluttered and unappealing, but it’s a more dynamic, overall better ride then Rat. For one thing, it feels like a ride and not a mobile theatre.

I thought Transformers was horrendously bad, so that doesn't bode well for my enjoyment of Rat.

I was already not expecting to really enjoy Rat, though.

Eh not really. They still have sets in each scene to transport you to feel like you’re in that environment. Each room if you look behind you is properly themed to the kitchen, ducts, dining room, etc. When you’re under the food cart theres the fire effect on the ceiling, the wheels move along with the scene as well. Plus the fridge scene, and the teacups and flowers in the finale.

Meh. It's just watching movies on a screen, as you said. That does almost nothing for me -- I don't even like Flight of Passage all that much. It's enjoyable but nothing special.

It's funny, because I feel the same way you do about FoP. My family in MO loves it a lot and it's a must do for them when they come down. I do enjoy riding it with them. However, that's the only time I actually ride it. I often bypass Pandora entirely when in DAK, just because its two attractions have such long waits for little payoff, IMHO. When you have the safari and Everest, plus amazing animal exhibits it's just hard for me to stomach it.

Rat, to me, was fun, but not worth the effort of the boarding group system. A 20-30 minute wait would be worth it, I wouldn't do an hour. So - it'll be a long time before I run over to Epcot and ride it.

I got BG #9 yesterday and it was called 3 minutes after Epcot opened at 10:00. Having practiced millisecond screen refreshes and taps with getting a virtual BG for RotR it was easy to snag a low number. I headed to France, full of excitement, and got in line. After it was over I seriously wondered why Disney has a virtual BG for something like this. It was a huge letdown.

I do wish they'd bring back the virtual BGs for RotR. Standing in line for over 2.5 hours earlier this week was not fun but right now it's the only option if you want to go on it.

VQ is gone at RISE in FL and it seems to be working well, I imagine RAT and Webslingers will ger rid of VQ and have standby lines sooner than later and hopefully RISE in CA as well. VQ seems like its a temp thing they will use at the opening of any new rides just cause theres so much demand they gotta do something. Although we will see how lightning lane works out, its an interesting time for Disney park functionality changes.

I was wondering why during the second to last scene where you're passing through the middle of a busy cooking session you smell freshly baked bread. Ain't you supposed to be smelling savory foods or at least sautéed onions and garlic. I love the smell of those.

I don't think I would call it working well when people frequently have to stand in line for 1, 2, 2.5+ hours to get in it. The VQ worked well and we didn't have to spend a large part of the day standing in line. I know things will change a bit when Genie+ rolls out on the 19th but for now it's a mess.

The VQ worked well for people who got a BG. For those that didn’t they had no other way to ride.

With a stand-by only line everyone has the chance to ride. If you really want to you can wait, if you don’t want to wait 2 hours then skip it. Or if you’re staying onsite you can get to the park 90 minutes before it officially opens and be amongst the first to walk on the ride. Or wait until the end of the day and wait for 45 minutes.

When the ILL$ start, people will have an extra option.

When you get stuck here for 10 mins and get to enjoy this lovely view.

I actually really like NRJ for what it is -- I think I enjoy it more than FoP, almost entirely because detailed sets are far more immersive/transportive for me than watching something on a screen -- but it's certainly not worth a 60+ minute wait. I've always used a FP to ride it. It's a fine complementary attraction (even with some obvious flaws) but it's being asked to do too much in Pandora/AK as a whole.

It's not that I think FoP is bad. I just wouldn't be willing to wait more than 20 or so minutes to ride it. That may mean I'll never ride it again (or at least for a very long time) since it's one of the paid attractions and there's no chance I'm paying $15 for it.

The other night wait for RISE was posted at 125 minutes. It was 40. Every other time I have been on RISE the wait time was 50% of what was posted, I guess just in case of breakdowns?
