It's all relative, of course. For some people (like me) the heavy reliance on screens will make it underwhelming almost by default because they simply fail to make me feel like I'm actually there.
While I get that some like to automatically dismiss anything that uses screens, having actually ridden this a number of times in Paris I found it quite enjoyable and believe it's going to be extremely popular, especially since virtually everyone can ride.

Per a friend that attended today, the only differences between US and Paris are in the queue (as expected). Indoor queue was slightly longer and featured an extra scene
An Artist’s loft with an animated painting featuring boarding instructions.

English/French split is exact same as Paris (as we expected I believe).
Yes, Tom Fitzgerald said there would be no change to the on ride experience and specifically cited language.

I’m surprised the only retail addition is a cart. There looks to be room for a small shop or even a “half shop” like yous goise on old streets of America

To be clear, I'm not suggesting it was a mistake to build it. I think it will be a big success and a lot of people will enjoy riding it.

I'm only saying that it doesn't look very good to/for me personally. I've yet to ride something with a heavy reliance on screens that truly moved the needle for me -- Flight of Passage is the best I've been on at either Disney or Universal, and while I enjoy it, I don't think I'd consider it a top 15 attraction at WDW. And I don't think I've seen anyone suggest that Rat is better than FoP, which means I'm unlikely to be impressed.

FoP is stationary with a movie screen in your face. Rat is a vehicle moving you around amongst real objects and different screens. It is different. Give it a shot.

I'll definitely ride it. It just doesn't look great to me in videos, and other rides like Forbidden Journey at Universal with motion and screens also didn't do that much for me (Forbidden Journey has non-screen parts as well, but it also has other non-screen related issues to me).

I would happily be wrong though!

I'm still not sure I'm totally normal 3 days after riding Forbidden Journey.

I think you will end the ride with a smile, an appreciation and then maybe never ride it again. It's good for what it does, and how well it transports you (and shrinks you) to a different part of our world.

I know. Like those who saw Avatar in the theater 30 times, you are haunted by the world and wish you can live there. These thoughts consume your days.
It was an awesome ride. I just don't think I could have done anything else with motion and a screen for a solid hour. Luckily that was a good time to get on line for Hagrid's ride.

You're spot on, and I can relate with Flight of Passage - the music is nice, but it never gives me that wow moment I always see others having. If that's how FoP leaves you feeling, Rat will be a solid meh.

It's cute. The oversized props look like plastic, and there aren't enough of them.

Would've happily traded it for a new pavilion, even one with no attraction.
