Really? I'm always happy with Chefs de France. One of my favorite restaurants on property.
It was some of the blandest food I’ve ever had in the parks and I’ve always found the service to be slow (but at least the food was good every previous time). After our last experience, and given how much dining is available in the area, I have no need to return. Sad, too. Truth be told, we went there on our honeymoon and loved the meal and service so much that one of our sons is named after the server! (we like the name, too, it’s just that the name had the added bonus of reminding us of our honeymoon)

Scheduled to be built in an all-new location near the previously announced Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure attraction

So, there's the whole front half of the national pavilion pad that Rat sits on. It could go there. If you include the theming of the IG, this would give France a full two and a half pads. Take that, American Adventure!

Or.... the nice but space-wasting hedge garden area could be up for a restaurant take-over.

Purple = Rat
Orange = Rat plaza and queue
Green = front half of the pad that Rat sits in
Teal = hedge garden and tree grove

Not having any insider knowledge, but I would think that Teal area would be an ideal location for something like this. If I remember right, aren't they adding restrooms in a building between the teal and purple? If they added this at Teal, it would create a full courtyard effect, and the new restaurant could have windows out to the canal & IG. Some great opportunities in that location. Which probably means I'm wrong. Also, all the concrete work on that side seems like a lot of concrete work just to create a walkway... so makes me wonder.

I’d prefer a half pavilion or something else in the green space.

Teal would surprise me. A restaurant with skyliner cables right in front? Possible, I guess. Meanwhile, it seems like a reasonable use of green, which was never going to house anything that compelling. Not suggesting any knowledge, though. I’d never heard before of this today.

Aren't these the foundations on the left in this Bioreconstruct pic?

A better look in an older bioreconstruct aerial:

The earth will be pushed back along the black coating you see on the rear retaining wall (GREEN). If you look in the center area withing that walled space you can see a lot of utilities already laid (electrical/water etc). My guess is this is where the kitchen will be (RED.) The restaurant/seating will fill the area from the concrete barriers to the retaining wall (BLUE.) To the right, a patio of sorts for outdoor seating.

Would be a way to flesh out the area.

At the rate they're adding to France, they should just call World showcase "France showcase, featuring some other places".

I'd like to see the other countries built out like this.
Agreed. A lot of the world showcase pavilions feel shallow - this depth is going to be quite wonderful.

Of course, one or two other pavilions match this depth - they just lack an attraction like Rat to drive people to it.

I recently ate here with some friends and it was the best experience I’ve ever had at WDW. The server was out of this world. Went to leave a review on google and his name was all over nearly ever review left for the past few months so YMMV at this place. Food was 8 out of 10 but service was 15 out of 10. It made our experience at Cali Grill (my golden standard at WDW) the next night look like going to Chili’s some how.
