Hey everyone!
Well before Innoventions there was Communicore which displayed some things of living in the future. I remember the TV Phone where you could talk to someone that was in California or New York (remember now, this was back in the early 1980's when technology was still being perfected); I remember where you could build your own roller coaster; you could talk to Smart One, a purple robot, that would play trivia games with you (last time I saw this robot was at the entrance of the Concourse Steakhouse at the Contemporary); Carnival Cruise Lines had a huge model of one of their ships on display; if memory serves me correct there were giant red globes that would show various pictures on them; I think there was a robot t-shirt painter on one side of Communicore; and lastly there were phones set up with screens above you where you could hear the current news all over the world.

Communicore was o.k. but Im glad Innovetions took its spot now. Take care and add anything else that you can remember about this attraction.

A bit short, this one isn`t it?? :D You could spend a day in Communicores light, airy, refreshing environment and not try everything. We`ve talked about this in the forums but briefly there was Backstage Magic and Computer Central, Energy Exchange, Centorium, Future Choice theatre, Expo Robotics (1988+) and Futurecom. The red globes you recall were part of Travelport. Catering was in Stargate (east) and Sunrise Terrace (west) - plus Odyssey was just outside of south east.

The biggest mistake in Innoventions (apart from the awful traffic flow) was to black out the windows. SO opressive.

And how could you forget about the computer that let you build a rollercoaster?!!!

Martin is right, blacking out the windows was the worst idea. Next putting up all those stupid awnings.

Ahh Communicore. I really did not know how much I missed the place until I saw Martin's tribute video. It reminded me of so many things that I had forgotten, the open feeling being one of them.
