Hey There Everyone, Just to know a little short update, i'm still working the MCA/Universal Studios Project in Progress, as you can see in my plans what the park & working studio complex would had & look like when i'm done.

I'm adding a few things that the park needs like in the original USF Concept Art of 1989/1990 including in the Hollywood Area are the Hollywood Hills & as well bringing in a few attractions in like Kongfrontation in the New York Area & as well for an Animation Complex/Attraction at the Studio Forecourt area called Universal's Art of Animation, like Disney has their Animation Studio at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida since i don't think USF has an Animation Studio in their park but maybe an Animation ride/attraction called The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera.

& as well that i'm creating a better entrance plaza to Universal Studios, & don't worry the Universal Globe would also be there too. ^^

Anyways got to get back to work & keep working. & By the Way the first area i would start first is to The Entry & Studio Forecourt Areas, So i would see all of you later at the Movies.

Whoa, good job man. You put more effort than I would into a project.

Nickelodeon
  • Nickelodeon Game Shows (Double Dare & Think Fast)
  • Nickelodeon Animation Studios (Rugrats, The Ren & Stimpy Show & Doug)
  • Nick Jr (Eureeka's Castle)

You learn something new everyday. I didn't know Doug was a Nickelodeon show. What threw me off was it's appearance at MGM Studios with it's own attraction. Surprisingly Disney went with a lot of non Disney stuff like Ace Ventura, Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers for this park, during it's early days.

I used to love Blues Clues, that Steve guy should have never left. He was a part of a very early memory for me.

It would have been awesome to see that and other Nick shows get their own section, filled with dark rides. Universal doesn't have enough of those type of rides... if any of those.

Hey There, another short update of my Alternatively Version of The MCA/Universal Studios Tour & Theme Park, i found the Lighting Design Concept video, just to understand the lighting from each land that feels like you're in a movie or in a story, because is Universal Studios a-course. ^^

2 - Columbia Pictures:
  • Ghostbusters

I know it was kinda corny, but the effects and the show were really good. I still don't know why they replaced it with Twister. I think they used the old pepper's ghost effects like Haunted Mansion does.

Also you could definitely put Ghostbusters and King Kong in the New York section. Like the way it was back in the old days.

That's the plan my friend ^^

You could always retheme Men in Black to be Ghostbusters. It really wouldn't cost that much. This way you have the space for something else in the front.

They wanted to have everything Spielberg was involved in.

Luckily they don't anymore, because lately he's had some real duds. No one wants a "Bridge of Spies" or "BFG" attraction.

4 - Don Bluth/Sullivan Bluth Studios (Some Films from United Artists, MGM & Goldcrest):
  • All Dogs Go To Heaven
  • The Secret of Nimh

I'd probably stay away from 2D animated movies Bone Daddy. The Universal ones haven't aged well at all. Only the computer ones have stayed relevant.

How about Dreamworks? There's plenty of options for those groovy toons.

I disagree profusely. Both The Secret of NIMH and All Dogs Go to Heaven are considered cult classics.

Thank U @Evilgidgit & yes also i was thinking if a Don Bluth attraction which is a film attraction began outdated in the early/mid 2000s then Shrek would come to this space in the Art of Universal Animation attraction.

Good Point, maybe i would think about that.

1. When was the last time you watched these movies?

and

2. How many kids born in the the last 30 years have watched them?

They're irrelevant movies with irrelevant characters. That have no marketability whatsoever and they wouldn't sell a t-shirt.

I don't particularly believe it is up to us what and what isn't relevant to be included withiin HomeImagineering's personal project. There remains a strong popularity for Don Bluth's films amongst those who grew up with them, even if it is not reflected within the theme parks. Like all films and works of fiction, they can be passed down to the next generation, and enjoyed by all. Films considered popular day may become irrelevant in 30 years time. Historically speaking, the quality of Don Bluth's films and success at the box office convinced Disney they had to revitalise their animation department in the 1980s, serving as one of many factors that led to the Disney Renaissance. If a Don Bluth related attraction was included, it can easily be refurbished into a more modern day IP like a Dreamworks film for instance.

I don't think Don Bluth's movies should be in the park. I think they are not marketable enough anymore as an IP. Universal already has a problem with using old franchises that are passed their primes. That's probably why they have to keep changing their attractions.

MIB, Jason Bourne and even Fast and the Furious (which is still making money) are some of the franchises they jumped on too late and maybe shouldn't have at all. How bad would it look if they had jumped on the Twilight craze and made an attraction for it? It's better to go with classic movies and stable franchises who will remain relevant.

First of all it’s @HomeImagineer ‘s project they can do what they see fit.

Second of all the whole purpose of this project is to have an alternative version of the park we know today, and this includes changing its opening day lineup attraction. This version is the park is opening in 1989, there is no CGI animated film and as a matter of fact there is not even a Disney Animation renaissance. Secret of Nimh was an okay box office success but was a larger success in home media, which it had been released on at this point. All Dogs Go to Heaven in this park’s timeline has yet to be released and given the studios prior films it would make sense for Universal to anticipate it being a huge hit given how An American Tail and Land Before Time performed.

I think we should all just sit back and enjoy this alternate theme park history and keep in mind that even Disneyland threw bones to properties that were considered flops such as Alice in Wonderland.

As goes the common saying I just made up: “Today’s flop is tomorrow’s cult classic. Sometimes.”
