You were close enough. I should of just gone ahead and given it too you. You said flares when they actually are fireworks. They are shot out of low pressure launchers a few feet away from the barges and glow for about thirty seconds. Sorry, I really should have given it to you!:brick:

You are correct sir! The 19 torches around the perimeter of the lagoon represent the first 19 centuries with the one in the middle being lit last as a symbol of moving into the next century.

Don Dorsey came up with the concept of the show in one day.

Ok, I asked Steve for permission to do this. I wanted to make sure I wouldn't get in trouble and be kicked off. He approved it, so here it goes. As you obviously have seen, I have been keeping score for those of you who have answered questions and answered them correctly. Now I'm going to put them to good use. I don't know how many more questions I am going to have, but I do know I will eventually run out of questions!:lol: So with that in mind, I am going to give a prize to the person with the most points! Yes, a prize! Now don't go jumping up and down, because it will not be anything big, just a little something I have been putting together for the occasion that can be emailed to you. I'll give more details when I know for sure that what I am putting together will work. Good Luck with the questions and may the best "mouse" win!

I think Don Dorsey had two other concepts before coming up with RoE.
By the way, with all these questions about RoE, I decided to listen to the Millennium Celebration CD again. The music is certainly different than most theme park music, but it's equally great to listen to. :sohappy:

As far as I'm aware the detonation means are far more conventional then the launching means. Timed cannon fuse which is probably lit electronically to ignite at a specific point in flight. That would be why after a piece of pyro is launched you see a very faint "tracer" (fuse burning) but it then disappears before detonation (fuse burning within shell and out of view). They're timed so that they have a specific amount of fuse that is lit on a computer controlled timer just before they are launched. Am I close?

The fireworks in RoE all have relatively short fuses attached to sensors that are built into each shell. Since everything is done by computer, a computer sends a signal to the sensor in the shell, causing the shell to be dedonated. This allows Disney to sychronize the fireworks with the music and get it right every time. With a conventional fuse, fireworks would always dedonate at random times.
