JUst thought I would share with my friends at WDWmagic that 2 weeks ago I was runner-up at the Classical Greek Dance Festival UK Finals with a piece I choreographed to Reflections Of Earth, my team had 15 girls and 1 boy taking part dressed in every colour of the rainbow to reflect the colours of the earth.

I don't expect many replies but I had to tell someone as I was so chuffed!!!!

Seriously, congratulations... I have to wait until next February to see ROE, and I'm really excited... dare I say, "chuffed!" (did I use it right?)

"Chuffed." That's one of the reasons why I love WDWMagic so much...the opportunity to learn words and phrases in a foreign language.:D

Hey, that's pretty cool. In my head, I'm trying to picture how something like that would look with the music.

Did you video tape it? How challanging was it for you? Did you edit the music or was it just straight through?

This music is extremely dynamic. It's goes back and forth from light and slow paced to some pretty pounding uptempo stuff.

How did the choreographed orchestral "hits" come out? LOL There are soooo many of them in this peice.

I bet it looks great! What did the girls (and the boy) think of the music?

Cool!

Thanks Cliff you certainly sound like you know about dance(even if you don't!!)

When I heard the music back in 2000 I just knew that was my next dance group, when I played it to the children(aged between 11 and 18)they fell in love with it, in fact one of the girls had just been to WDW! My last piece had been to music from Titanic and very emotional so I wanted a completely uplifting tune which ROE definately is. On every accent and highlight of the music we danced specific steps that just "go" with it. I had to cut out the piece that bit when the globe first comes across the lake as the competition had a time limit.

When I get the picture taken at the competition in London I will post it and I am videoing it next month at our dance school show.

In case anyone was wondering Classical Greek dance is how we believe they danced in Ancient Greece(4-5th centuries BC).I'm not sure if there are any teachers in the USA as it was devised in the UK
