Look at Zach Ridddley's new Instagram tv post around the 0:24 mark to see an interesting new view of harmonious testing, looks like fireworks are being launched off of the barges themselves.

EDIT: the post was taken down and is now a video format so you cant pause it but the clip is still there
Yes there are a limited number of firework launch points on the barges

In the soundtrack video disney posted what song is Luis is singing around 1:56?

“Saludos Amigos” from the film of the same name. This movie always captivated/interested me so much as a kid. One of the few song/film choices they picked that actually fits in with the spirit of EPCOT. Fun fact; this is the movie that introduced José Carioca also, in the Brazil segment. Before Three Caballeros was released.

I honestly didn’t realize how bad it was until I saw it in person this week.
Same. I thought it might have been overblown but wow it's an eyesore. I'm thankful they don't totally destroy my favorite view in the parks (Spaceship Earth under the Itsukushima Shrine torii at the Japan pavilion) but they're still just blatantly... THERE. If they can't fix the fountain effects they need to figure out how to float the floats in and out like the Illuminations ones; otherwise, they're actively destroying the park's beauty and artistry in the most literal way possible.

Very nervous about this, are we really going to get Full lasers back for all shows across property in time for Oct 1? How disappointing that will be if Harmonious debuts with no lasers!

IIRC, wasn’t it mentioned that they would be and it partially has to do with programming for the new shows?

I mean, I wouldn’t imagine that we’d see the preview/teaser footage that we did which appears to include lasers if their absence had to deal with safety reasons or clearance from an AHJ.

Around the 27-second mark of the video in the link below, the manta ray appears to be created from lasers on water/mist.

Unless I missed one of the insiders allude to there being issues with the use of lasers, I wouldn’t get too worried. Just my thoughts for whatever it’s worth.

Hope your right. Programming would make sense for Harmonious and Enchantment, but WWOA doesn’t have them back yet.

I'm like 90% sure we'll have lasers back for HarmonioUS and Enchantment. I really hope that HEA is running at full speed (or A Mode as I call it) by its final showing though...

Has Disney abandoned plans for the Harmonious daytime fountains as concept art is removed

Between the daily maintenance and poor fountain capabilities (so far) of the tacos, I think they need to put a separate daytime fountain setup dedicated to the daytime fountain screens/shows. Far enough away to allow maintenance a safe environment, but close enough to hide the huge eyesores.

I could be persuaded that, with only a few weeks to go, signs have been removed because they won't be needed once the show is running, and that action was completely separate from any fountain decision.

Or maybe they don't want to use daytime mode for fear of "disappointing" guests since Epcot Forever doesn't have any fountains, and showing them during the day might make people question why they aren't used at night.

But, yeah, they've probably thrown in the towel and have given up on masking the stupid oil rigs. Because it's not like they're still working on the daytime version - we saw them running daytime mode last month, so the programming is there and could presumably be turned on right now. The fact that it hasn't says it all.

And, as pointed out, it's not like daytime mode improved things. If anything, it made it worse.

What an utter embarrassment. "Mistake on the lake" indeed.

WDI once again proves they don't know how water works:

You know…it’s an eyesore…but I seriously wondered if fountains would have made it a bigger one?

why do I get the feeling that they didn’t notice just how bad it ruined the sight lines until it was in?

…that is is an inexcusable WDI Fail if so
Whoever approved this eyesore deserves a kick in the swim suit area with a steel-toed boot.

“Show” seems to not have been a factor in any of the decision-making around this.
