Does anyone know if the refillable mugs that you purchase at the resorts, are the same as last year or did they change them.?

I don't know, but I'd prepare for a number of posts telling you that you are cheap and/or trying to steal beverages from Disney.

The only difference is they removed the year. Last year they had 2007 under (I think) Mickey and Minnie. This year it is just a blank white space.

When I was there in Jan they were the same as Oct, minus the year as a PP said. Looked identical from a distance, I had to stare at it for a minute to notice the year being gone.

I feel your pain - I was hoping they would go back to the resort specific mugs this year, or least do something different, but I guess not. :(

If the mugs all look alike now, and don't even have a year stamped on them, then WDW must not care where or when you bought it. (CS is the one exception.)

I too was a bit disappointed when they did not have a Resort Specific cup when this started last year. We started collecting the Resort cup each time we went to a different Resort to save. Now they all still use the Same one. We too are guilty of bringing our cups. We may get 3 or 4 uses out of them, either because the room is too far away, or We don't want to pack or carry it with Us. With the cost of the many cups We did purchase plus the thousands of dollars each trip we spend on food pins merch, and other various goodies, The guilt went away about reusing a cup for soda that must cost them pennies, if anything at all as someone else said. I think I covered the cost of the soda with the purchase of 400 DVC points. With DVC, we end up going 5 times a year. Imagine 10 new identical cups a year sitting in our house. We got the same blue/white/silver one in Dec. 2006, October 2007. Not sure what they will look like this year. This is at Pop century though. We love them and use them all year to take coffee to work!:sohappy:

I take it they don't use the barcode labels for specific days of visits like the waterparks, then??
No, You just walk up to the fountains and pump away!. The 3 DVC Resorts that I used them at have the fountain drink pumps away from where the CM are stationed. At OKW, they ended up just putting the fountain at the outer part of goods to go. That would be tough for them to keep looking out at who is using what cup all day long. They just trust, and as I said before, realize that with this fountain service they are not losing on this deal.

Stating first that the OP does not intend to use last years mugs as a money savings tool and the following posters also have not stated that they would either . I would like to ask a couple questions about the following posts. I would like to state at this point that I am not looking for an arguement or trying to degradate anyone. It is merely an inquirey for my own knowledge base.

As we all know the official policy for Disney is that Refillable mugs are Valid during the stay that they are purchased. Keeping that in mind...

it must not matter as I have seen guests using mugs from years back, as resort specific mugs.

Why would other peoples actions make something that is wrong, Right or mean it does not matter?

I have seen people using Dixie landings Mugs at the All Stars if that gives you any clue how "strict" they are.

Why is self enforcement such a foreign concept now? When did we as a culture need to be told that something is wrong for us to the right thing?

I thought a moment before posting this, but it really made me think. I have seen a some posts lately that kind of lead to what you can get away with, instead of what you should be doing. I will admit from the onset that I am not completely innocent of trying to beat the system. It does take an effort to do the right thing. I was just wondering if any one else noticed the shift attitudes? Sorry if I ruffle any feathers.
