Disney DOES satisfy all permitting rquirements, it's just that they do not go thru the process everyone else does, they can move much faster.
As has been pointed out many times…RCID construction/process is often built over Florida standards

I like how people are trying to present Florida - an administrative mess if ever their was one - as somehow being a juggernaut that is “strict” and “demanding” to suit their needs now…

They do go through the same process as anyone else. If the process moves faster its simply because RCID’s permitting department is operating more efficiently not because the process is different. Don’t blame Disney, blame your local permit office.

RCID is usually viewed as more stringent than other local jurisdictions when it comes to this.

To be completely fair, RCID really only has one entity pulling permits, not thousands of different companies and people from all over with all different subjects and things that need to be looked into. I doubt there has ever been a permit that TWDC asked for that RCID didn't grant.

Why are you unable to absorb information when it is percented to you? They already pay property taxes to the counties. The taxes they pay to RCID are an additional tax. You can view exactly what taxes they pay, how much, and to who. This information is public record
So WDW will have their total tax liability lowered?

If so, sounds like a win for WDW at the expense of RCID being able to finance infrastructure improvements through issuance of debt.

Reedy Creek Improvement District really doesn’t move that much faster, if at all, than other local jurisdictions.

To be completely fair, RCID really only has pulling permits, not tons from all over with all different subjects and things that need to be looked into. I doubt there has ever been a permit that TWDC asked for that RCID didn't grant.
The only reason the counties can deny a building permit is because the documents are insufficient and don’t meet code. The District constantly sends documents back for correction and are known for being very strict.

Thousands of permits are pulled in the district every year. Disney is not the only landowner and not the only entity. There are hundred of contractors, operating participants, and Disney business units pulling permits. They can range from installing a sign to building a roller coaster. RCID does dent permit requests and often sends them back. They are not knowing for being fast or lenient.

Well bringing this very much back to WDW, this gives Disney yet another reason to make significant cut backs to WDW going forward. I am hearing this is already concern about the future.
You mean they won’t move forward with Spaceship Earth refurb, the Mary Poppins attraction, or a third Galaxy’s Edge attraction?

I think it will have a lot of consequences including cutbacks.

The stock market doesn’t like uncertainty. Disney now knows that FL is disposed to take capricious actions. I’m sure the bean counters are figuring out ways to handle that.

Disney will continue to make money. It’s FL imo who will suffer consequences whether in lost jobs or reduced tourist dollars.

RCID doesn’t rubber stamp everything, there are times they send things back to the drawing board.

Let me state clearly that I disagree with what FL has done. I believe it’s retaliatory and an infringement of 1A. I also think it’s financially foolish. Nor do I believe FL was teaching ‘sex’ to 5 year olds and under.

I’m trying to assess how empty the governor’s threats are.

I’m not talking about creating taxes out of the nothing.

In PA (and I assume other states) we certainly have local jurisdictions that collect fees for sewer/water treatment, trash, and some other services plus taxes for earned income that are not part of the county and property tax assessments.

I’m not a tax expert I’m hoping someone on this board knows more and can share info.
Just to remind…cause I can’t resist…pa invented building a road that costs 5 times as much, half the size it needs, that has potholes before it opens…

And there’s a brother in law and an unmarked envelope under a pie at some point in the process.

Ok…back to the topic at hand 🤪
