In the Parks
Yes
Universal Studios FL had been planning to build as early as the early 1980s. Roadblocks of county red tape was what they dealt with over the years. USF finally opened in 1990. WDW and Reedy Creek who bypassed all the red tape a few years later planned for DHS. DHS opened in 1989. Efficiency, unregulated works when red tape does not get in the way. If under Orange and Osceola counties, look for typical red tape to get in the way.

Well Universal did decide to pick an EPA Superfund site to build an amusement park on... just sayin....

As you can tell from my avatar, I own DVC at OKW. Here is a breakdown of what DVC owners pay for property taxes. Credit DVCNews.com
Both the State, County, RCID, SFWMD and the cities of Bay Lake or Lake Buena Vista get a cut along with the counties Libraries.
Disney should be paying all these entities also as a property owner.

I think you need to step back and consider how difficult these thread are to moderate. It is a no-win impossible situation when there are two very divided sides to every thread that is political in nature. Each time we try to let people carry on the conversation, and each time someone gets upset with comments, can't control what they say, gets angry with moderation - and so on. Please try to help and these types of threads can maybe more successful.

It's difficult when Disney decided to go all in. I don't envy you your task.

This idea regarding Reedy Creek removal is pure March Madness ( Go DUKE!) without basketball. Pure and simple it is retaliation against WDW, who happens to be a big donor to causes and parties.

Maybe. But Disney threw the first punch. Individuals can certainly disagree with any legislation. But they decided to weigh in as a company against the State of Florida. Florida Legislators took notice. And here we are.

Corporations are able to engage in speech just like individuals. This is in no way an appropriate response to expressing dislike of legislation.

Were you for or against Disney pulling out of Russia?

I wonder, if RCID is dissolved, will they also dissolve the 17 special districts - all similar to RCID - that make up the Villages?

Honestly, I'm surprised that Florida doesn't just legalize casino gaming and marijuana in the state, and flood the state with competitors to Disney.
