I found this very interesting article about how Reedy Creek works, and I thought others also might find it informative...

http://www.rotten.com/library/travel/walt-disney-world/

And here is the official Reedy Creek site, of course featuring the 2 cities of Bay Lake and Lake Buena Vista.

http://www.rcid.org/

It also lists the "mayors" of each town and the counsel members.

Most interesting on this site is the Future Use under 2008, page 16(map). It clearly shows pink as "entertainment" and they are MK, MGM, Epcot, AK, DTD, and a huge pink area along the Western Way...

To me it looks to be DAK is the only pink area on Western Way; the road actually cuts through the very top of the DAK plot.

What I did notice was the resort area (DVC?) area east of World Drive is no longer designated for a resort (the Epcot Monorail spur rumour) - though perhaps DVC isn`t included. Funnily, AKL isn`t there at all. However, note the area west of Seven Seas is STILL designated as a resort area (within the golf courses) as is the Venitian / Med resort plot.

Boy, how 'bout the tone in that article? The "Disney controls everything you see and it's the end of the world" argument is grating. Please don't hide that big piece of machinery inside a pile of gigantic floppy disks at Pop Century. I want to stare at a big diesel engine while I'm in the pool. I like to keep it "authentic" when I'm on vacation.

That's all stuff from 1998. It was all written pre 9/11, I wonder how much of their planning (expansion) has changed. I wonder when the 2008-2018 info will come out. I wonder if it will be basically the same. I wonder...

I don't know anything about the host site, but it definately had a "Disney is evil for wanting to hide the trash and pipes" tone, but I found the description of the way the gov't works and the realtionship with the state interesting. I guess whoever wrote this article would prefer a plain hotel, exposed pipes, power lines and poles, etc.:hurl:
