That's awesome that you got to meet him!

I said to my girlfriend after the first week of baseball this season and told her they were going all the way...you could just tell by their chemistry.

I completely forgot about it...and after Game 4...she said, "Well, you called it...and I doubted you." :D

Thanks for coming back Mikey!

It's funny...

They just handed out the "Most Valuable Player" awards for the 2007 season.

Alex Rodriguez won for the American League.

Being a Red Sox fan...this does not sit well...but...his performance this year warranted him to win that award.

Funny though...the term "Most Valuable Player" could and should mean something completely different. Yes, it should mean, the player that is most valuable to his team. Here is where the twist should come...it should also take into account player salaries. Is this player the Most Valuable to his team at the price the team is paying to have him?

For instance...if a player puts up really good numbers and is making 10 million a year...and A-Rod comes in and hits maybe 1 or 2 more home runs...and equal in every other aspect...but is making 3 times as much money...is he more valuable to his team?

(Yes, obviously the team makes the difference because the Yankees have a much bigger pot of money to play with than say Tampa Bay...but the question really should be asked).

If someone hits 45 home runs...drives in 100 runs, and has a stellar defensive season...and makes 10 million dollars...and A-Rod comes in and hits 50 home runs, drives in 105 runs, and has the same defense making 30 million...is A-Rod worth 3 TIMES the amount to the team that the other guy is?
