Redeeming Disney Visa Rewards?

Hi all :wave:

I'm wondering how far in advance of our January 8th trip we should redeem our Disney Visa Rewards?
Or can I redeem them at the parks at Guest Services or something like that?

I know that when I redeemed my rewards it takes a few weeks to get the rewards card in. As for the other question of redeeming in the park not sure on that.

Do you mean, getting your rewards card or switching your rewards dollars to your card?

I do believe that you can get your reward dollars moved onto your card at anytime, all it takes is access to the website and presto. Check the website for the Disney rewards, that might have more information such as what guest services offers in this area.

It takes about 1 week to get your rewards card in the mail and it is good for a year, I think.

That is if she already has a rewards card and it has not expired.


It took about 2 weeks for my rewards card to come in when I called to redeem my rewards.

You will then have to call the number on the card to activate and transfer your points. I did this last year. I called and activated the card while waiting for the train. It takes maybe five minutes.

even if you don't have a card yet, you can get it in a week, just pay extra. that's what i did. it came in a few days.

I ordered my card yesterday - so we will see if it comes in time for my trip (leaving 8/17)

No, I did not pay for "extra fast service" It says it takes 2-3 business days, then they mail it.

I only put a few dollars on it. I figure if it does not come in time, I can just open a second one at Guest Relations with the balance of my account on it.

Ok, this is probably what we will do. I don't want to have to order it a month in advance and miss out on putting points on that rewards card.
I might as well just save it until we actually get there and redeem them then.

Hey Disneyprincess, i called Disney VISA rewards last week to redeem my points, i had the card less than a week later....they seem to be very diligent with it. So give it 3 weeks before your trip and call

get your card in advance at least 1 month and then we always just call and have them transferred on the magical express bus ride to the resort--have fun

Wish I had read this thread earlier! I ordered mine this morning for our trip 8/18. I paid the extra because I was afraid I wouldn't get it in time. Didn't realize I could have done this at Downtown Disney...Oh well.
