Yup, busy shopping malls in a giant city. And those trolleys really MOVE through the narrow streets of The Grove or Americana. Look at this thing go!
These systems have been in operation in multiple shopping malls in Southern California for years. They can work in Disney Springs, just like they work in malls and on Buena Vista Street in DCA.
Anyone catch the little boy at the end who put a penny on the track to get squished by the trolley, and then went to check it out after it went by? I used to do that with pennies on train tracks when I was a kid decades ago! Kinda funny how kids still know to do that, but now in a super-fancy ultra-themed mall with an electric trolley instead of a dirty freight train.
They can move, but in practical use, they are generally nowhere near that fast. Just like Main Street, too many people in the way. Americana is much more open and better about getting around. The Grove's trolley is much more closed in. However, the Grove/Farmer's market and Americana are big outdoor centers, so the trolleys are a nice alternative to walking.
