No, what you "Yankees" fans do is cheer for some dude with deep wallets. Let's face it...the Yankees fans aren't cheering for the "team" but for George. (If George didn't have the deep wallets, the Yanks would be as good as Detroit)

Speaking of "Amen Brother"

Friday, July 4, 2003 - Boston Red Sox 10, New York Yankees 3

(7 Home Runs by the Red Sox in the game...most ever against the Yankees)

Saturday, July 5, 2003 - Boston Red Sox 10, New York Yankees 2

Hmmm...looks like Georgie Porgie should BUY some Red Sox hitters...

(These aren't just wins...these are no-contests)

Tomorrow, July 6, 2003 - Burkett vs. Pettite? (not sure)
Monday, July 7, 2003 - Pedro Martinez vs. Musssssssina

Gotta give some mad props to David Ortiz who went into this series with 5 home runs on the year...and now walks away from the second game of the Yanks series with 9 on the year (4 home runs...2 games) Not a bad 24 hours of baseball :)

All but one player in the Red Sox lineup is batting over .300 (Johnny Damon is batting .252)...now if we could just get the bullpen settled down (Kim is a great start!)

Come on Rick...I'm pulling for your Jays if my boys with the red on their feet can't pull through...

(We're stopping them from pulling too far away from you!!! Now, play some catch up!)

Tell me about it! It's been a rough couple of weeks. We almost got swept by <gulp> Detroit...and we've lost two to Baltimore!

But - I'm still really happy with the 21 games we won in May. That sure pulled us out of the toilet. The Delgado and Wells combination has worked well, but it seems most of our bats are solid. Even the pitching has improved. We have a good shot!

And - as I said to you in PM...if the Jays can't pull it off, I'll be hoping for a Sox victory in the East. I love summer.

Rick

Awww...it's ok tigsmom... *pats head*

Here...I know it's sad when your team gets horribly destroyed by their biggest rivals (I'm a Red Sox fan...I DO KNOW!)

But...there's always room for a Yanks fan turned Sox fan on this side of the green monster :)

Here's an avatar I made for you...wear it with pride :)

Yes...and much like the leaves...the Yankees will die and fall

(Red Sox are always up by the end of May...fall during the end of June...and are behind by the end of July...AllStar break comes...and they just plummet)

1. Red Sox were up by the end of May
2. They fell during the end of June
3. Unlike other years...they're coming BACK in July!

(Oh ok tigsmom...we'll just keep the fact that you're an "in the closet Sox fan" between you, me, and the rest of the forum :) )
