Recommended rooms in All Star Movies please?

Hi! We're staying at All Star Movies for the first time, and I was wondering if anyone can recommend which building we should stay in? We'd prefer one of the Toy Story ones, but it says somewhere that Toy Story, Fantasia and 101 Dalmatians are all preferred (more expensive) sections? Does that go for all the rooms in all those sections? We don't really like Love Bug or Mighty Ducks.

Does anyone have a building (preferred or not preferred) to recommend? We'd like to be as close to the shuttle bus as possible, but still have a good view of Buzz or Woody or something else fun!

:xmas: Thanks :xmas:

I thought it was $10 too!. But when we got there, they told us how much extra we'd have to pay for preferred, and although I can't remember exactly, it was quite a lot more than $10. Plus the tax of course.

The preferred rooms are $12 more per night. Depending on what building you get put in, and where in that building, makes all the difference on whether it is worth it or not. We always get a preferred room, and are usually pretty lucky with our location.

However on our trip a few weeks ago, we got stuck in the Dalmations building, (in the furthest room in that building). After one night, and another trip to the front desk, we were moved to Fantasia, much better. I couldn't see spending 8 nights in a room we weren't happy with.:)

$12 + tax, yeah?

I seem to remember that you were going at about the same time and me&hubby were going, end of January? Hope you had a great trip! Weather was dreadful but we had the time of our lives anyway :D :king:

We had a great trip, we went the last week of February. Terrific weather during our stay, highs 75-80, and no rain, however I heard it wasn't so great the weeks before, or after. Guess we got lucky!

Glad you had a great time!!

My wife and I took our two small children in September 2006 and stayed in the Mighty Ducks section. When I was first considered which section we wanted to stay in, I thought that the Mighty Ducks would be least desired because we had no interest in that movie. However, it turned out to be a great location.

1) First, it was more quiet and very easy to find close parking.

2) Second, as stated above, you can easily use both All-Star Music and All-Star Movies busses. Remember, that during less crowded times, the buses may, at times, circulate to all three All-Stars and Movies is always third.

3) Third, the walk to the other areas is very minimal. If I ever had to run up to the lobby, food court or gift shop for anything it was not inconvenient. Further, it was fun to walk through the other sections when on our way to the lobby. Walking though and visiting the other themeing was fun.

4) Fourth, you have your own pool. We went to both the Fantasia pool and the Mighty Ducks pool. The Fantasia pool was not a far walk and it was fun and exciting, but it was also very nice to go to our own quiet pool for just a quick swim. Going to the Fantasia pool, from any room location, would have been a bit of a production for my clan. However, the Mighty Ducks pool was often quiet with more than enough lounge chairs available.

I didn't spend the extra on the preferred room either and am actually hoping I do get the Herbie buildings, I love Herbie going back to my child hood in the 70's lol, maybe I should have chose POP instead ahahaha. My kids are like what is that when they saw the Big Wheel on the Disney web site, and were in shock when I said I actually had one, in fact 2 or 3 of them. But I think for me being closer to the parking lot is a plus and I wouldn't mind walking around to the main building or food court as we will get to see all the large icons outside the rooms etc. We will have a rental car for the week and prefer to have the flexability of being able to come/go when we want and save all that bus waiting etc. What did the person previously mean when she said the virgins all get put in Toy Story, does that mean because it is my first time at Disney that is where I will be getting a room even though I did not pay for a preferred room?

If theres a building you want tell them when making your reservations. They wont gurantee anything but they will do there best to put you were you want. Then call every so often to check on your itinirary, and let them know each time where you want to stay. Seems to work.

Stayed ther 5 times, found Toy Story Hotel facing the courtyard to be the best. Close to pool, parking (If you drive) & main building. Just don't let them stick you on the backside of building 10 facing toward Show Biz Lane, you will hear the delivery trucks all night.:snore: :snore:

We've stayed in Dalmations once and Toy Story two or maybe three times (I can't remember--time to pull out the photo albums.) I really liked Toy Story. And I agree with Cooleo--inside facing the courtyard is the best.
