Recommend me a small, romantic restaurant!

For me and my wife. I need a place that is not overly loud, but is small and low-lit and just romantic overall. It can be anywhere on WDW property.

(Victoria/Alberts is out of the question I'm afraid)

Palios at the Swan, Citricos at GF, Cali Grill at Contemporaty (back room is quiet, the lounge area is noisey), Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge.

Ahh yes, I totally forgot about the Artist Point! This sounds great. I've passed by it, but never dined there. How's the food and overall experience?

Food is very good. Pacific Northwestern inspired grilled fare. Atmoshere is very nice as well. We've been there twice. once was perfect, but another time we went right before closing and our service was a bit rushed

I would second Artist Point for that category also. It is one of our favorites. Yachtsman Steak House, Citrico's, Flying Fish are all good options as well.

With that said, this IS Disney so even those these are less frequented by families with small children, it is not unheard of. The only place to get away from all of that is V&A's.

If this is a special event (anniversary etc.) mention that when you are making the reservation...there may be some special touches for you.

I would agree with this. I love the food at WDW, but Artist Point is really a cut above the rest IMHO. :slurp: It has actually become one of my favourite restaurants, period.

And I find that, even if there are kids around in there, the quietness of the atmosphere makes them less rambunctious than they would be at one of the theme park restaurants (the Brown Derby comes to mind as one of those places where, in spite of the chi-chi food and the chi-chi prices, I still seem to be seated next to a crying child every time I'm there! )

I would highly recommend Le Cellier at Epcot. The restuarant is small, very dim-lighted and romantic. Plus, the food is very good and I would highly recommend the cheddar cheese soup with the pretzel sticks. The food there is steaks and some seafood.

my wife and i recently (about 2 weeks ago) ate at artists point, and though the food was good (not excellent, just good) i was completely dissappointed with the service! We were rushed through the whole meal...we both decided we would not go back, at least not for a long long time.

For romantic, we like Bistro de Paris.

Narcoossee's. It's small and right on the water. The view is beautiful. The only time I have ever heard it loud was when my 14 member family had dinner there.

I'd second that. If V&A is out, Bistro is probably my second "romantic" choice. I find Le Cellier too crowded to be romantic (IMHO), and the last experience we had there was far less than magical (two weeks ago) (Disney ultimately refunded us for the meal -- it was that bad:( ). Perhaps an off night (we've been there maybe 20 times without issue), but we just won't be back for a while...

I also prefer romantic restaurants at the parks because in my opinion, there's nothing that finishes a romantic dinner off better than a stroll through the parks afterwards when it's dark. It's amazing how the crowds just disappear!

You make good points, and I agree with the stroll afterwards, but the compromise with any of the "in park" restaurants is you get a much greater mix, they tend to be much louder and more congested. I love Le Cellier and Chefs de France, but I prepare myself for a "loud" meal. I can't remember the last time that I didn't hear a big plate crash in Chef's.

You can get the same effect by going to Flying Fish or Yachtsman's then walking to Epcot after...or a stroll along the boardwalk.

A stroll along the boardwalk after a nice dinner (we ate at the yachtsman's) is very nice indeed.

Artist Point is a good choice and a stroll around the grounds afterwards is also relaxing and romantic.
