Recipe???

Quite a few of the recipes that I find online are missing instructions in the preparation section. They may be missing ingredients as well, but I wouldn't know that.

I'd found the Passion Fruit Cheesecake recipe from Ohana online but it wasn't until I looked closely at the instructions I realize something was very off:

Passion Fruit Cheesecake
from 'Ohana, Polynesian Resort
Yield: serves 5

Cheese Cake
2.5 OZ cream cheese
1 ¼ OZ granulated sugar
1 ¾ OZ whole eggs
1 ¼ TSP whole milk
10 OZ butter
5 OZ egg yolks

Passion Fruit sauce
14 OZ condensed milk, can
7 OZ egg yolk
2 OZ lemon juice
8 OZ Passion fruit purée

Method of Preparation:
1. Combine water and coffee in press pot and let steep for a few minutes.
2. Place sugar, coffee, Irish cream, and milk in a stock pot.
3. Heat until almost boiling.
4. Temper with egg yolks.
5. Pour into baking dishes.
6. Bake at 225 degrees in a water bath for 30 minutes uncovered.
7. Top with passion fruit sauce and bake for additional 15 minutes.

I wrote to Disney guest services asking for clarification but haven't heard anything back. No surprise, because I'm sure it was a very busy weekend. It probably wouldn't be that hard to figure out from the ingredients and the description of the cheesecake (apparently the custard is layered between the cheesecake), but if anyone can clarify the method I'd appreciate it.

We've come across this problem before so its always good to get feedback.
We've been able to adjust some recipes (and they have been updated thru editing), but some we may never know.

There are very few Brown Derby recipes out there. I'll do a deep search and see what I can find.

You can call WDW merchandise and order the other book, if its still available.

I'm headed to Europe for 6 weeks and have been buried under work before leaving. However, before I go, I wanted to request that if anyone is going to the Epcot Food and Wine Celebration at the end of September and gets some new recipes (esp. at the food demos) could you PLEASE post them? Some of them have been terrific like the Cha Sha Chicken.

Thanks :slurp:

Epcot funnel cakes

Back from the world. Didn't get to get a funnel cake while we were there however, we have finally got the funnel cake gift set and directions.
It actually is Gold Medal Old Fashion Funnel Cake Mix (website www.gmpopcorn.com) You can also get this through the owner of the stand at Epcot her email is funnelcakeorder@aol.com

We tried this the other night and it was pretty good, but we are having a hard time getting the temp to 400 degrees.

The next thing we are going to try is the fryed oreos that we got at Boma for our Anniversary. It seems like all it is, is oreos dipped in funnel cake batter then fried the regular way. We will see.:slurp:

I thought everyone might want to know how to get a funnel cake kick if needed.

Thanks for the report!

I have friends who make funnel cakes in an electric fry pan that has a temp gauge and have fairly good results.

Fried Oreos sound sooo sinful!

EDIT: Here is the recipe from Good Morning America

I just had two last night! :slurp: :slurp: :slurp:

When DH and I went to Boma last May we fell IN LOVE with their white bean hummus. The waiter told us he would have someone e-mail us the recipe, but I never received anything. Anyone have the recipe?

That looks like the right one. Thanks so much! I'm not familiar with Tahini - I hope I can find it somewhere around here...
